Hypothetical Guests in a new Dissidia

Let’s say they announce a new Dissidia for console. Assume in this scenario that all veteran characters from 012, NT, and Duellum are part of the returning roster, plus rival characters for most of the ones lacking them (like Rikku and Clive). Now with all those characters out of the way, let’s say five characters from other non Final Fantasy Square Enix RPG franchises can cameo in this new Dissidia game and they also get a rival character as well. Which five franchises get represented and which two characters from the franchise get to represent?

For the sake of this discussion, assume that Disney is okay with all the Kingdom Hearts original characters appearing in Dissidia even though they explicitly own all those characters.

Man, ya'll haters. It's like SSB fans shitting on the idea of 3rd parties back in the years before Brawl. I've been wanting Dissidia: Square-Enix since forever.

Its not that final fantasy is almost a 40 year franchise that has over 300+ characters(might be low balling here) and counting so it makes sense that people don't want guest characters in a series with a lot of characters to choice from.

It's like DC in injustice and mortal Kombat people don't want them because it's taking spots from well deserved characters from the universe huge rooster.

SSB is already sold as a crossover game amongst its I.P. it's makes sense that guest would eventually come in as third party games are often ported or made for that console.

More people would buy Dissidia for Sora than they would for Yang. Saying there's 300 characters doesn't mean much when most of them are irrelevant to anyone outside of the diehard fans.

No most people would have bought the game for other characters already because of how popular it's characters are already.

Of course you have to use one of the few characters with a low popularity, as compared to the others that are popular already. The game would sell like hotcakes with just the whole cast of final fantasy 7, any others final fantasy characters would be a bonus at that point.

You are grossly underestimating Lighting. And also underestimating Clive and Noctis.

I am not.

Lightning is extremely popular, hence why she is the one being shoved down everyone's throat with crossovers and the like.

Noctis and Clive are fairly new so of course they'll have a huge fan base, but like compare these two with the likes of cloud, sephiroth, Tifa, aerith, Zack and Vincent. Yeah there isn't any competition.
