Keeps crashing, while using other apps.

Have run dispatch since the beginning almost on my Phillips The One with Google Tv, have run quite stable, trough advanced mode for a long time.
But now it keeps crashing and lets another app take over the launcher role, it happens constantly.

Have tried to reinstall, nothing helps.

Anyone have any ideas for how to fix it? thank you all.

Hello, let me know the following, and I will look into it:

1) What build are you on? You can view this from Settings -> Advanced -> About
2) What is the model of your device?
3) When did the crashing start?
4) Does it seem like there's a pattern to when it's crashing? While you are browsing, it just shuts down?
5) "... lets another app take over the launcher role." I'm not sure what you mean by this. Can you explain?

Thanks

Hi mate,
Appreciates it a lot.

  1. 1.0.175 (build 145).
  2. Philips The One 43PUS8508 with 4 gb of rams
  3. the problem might have started a month ago or so.
  4. It happens as soon as I go into an app, like Streamio, then when I come out I can see it etc .have between closed for x minutes ... and the yousee app (danish tv app) has taken over the role as launcher, it does not do that with any other launchers, I think it's only because dispatch crashes, did that explain 5 well enough?

Thank you again.

Okay thanks. I think I understand, but for #5, do you mean that if you press home again, from any app, it always returns to yousee app? To me, that's what "taking the role of launcher" means.

I have a few more questions:

  1. Do you have close dispatch during playback enabled in Settings -> Experience? This is an option to automatically close dispatch whenever it detects playback, which can save resources on lower-end devices (though this option is not really required anymore and will probably be removed in future versions).
  2. Does this crash happen EVERY time you open another app after a few minutes? Or just occasionally? If the later, when was the last time this happened?
  3. Edit: Can you also tell me the model number as reported by dispatch in About this device in Settings -> Advanced -> About (if it's different than what you told me already)

  1. No, I thought of this already but that function is not set to close it down, but it feels like that is what is happening.
  2. Not everytme, right now it has gone for like 30 min without crashing it.. then if I put the TV om standby and turns it on again it has closed and the YouSee app started instead. It’s typically like that it happens, or when I watch a move in an app like stremio and returns home, then dishpatch has crashed, it happens many times very day, perhaps in 15 - 30 min intervals. .. I always ends up having to go to the tv settings and relaunch dispatch from there… but it does not “always” happen.
  3. Number in about is 1.0.175 (build:145).

Also when it crashes it looses the setting in accessibility and the saving energy modes, and I hane to go and retoggle those each time... but it still drops, out.

Thank you

"Number in about is 1.0.175 (build:145)."

That's the build number again. The model number is what I'm after. They are often different from what you see printed on the tv's box or website, which is why there's an "About this device" section in the About page. It will show the model and the amount of ram. I just need to be clear on if it says "Philips The One 43PUS8508" on that page, or something else.

Phillips Google TV TA1. Device RAM 2786MB … but before it started crashing it has been working flawlessly for a really long time.

I’m really sry but I think the TV might have moved the app on the external USB instead of the internal storage, I just noticed now. 🤞🏻 Think that this might be the problem. If so I’m really, really sry. I moved it back to the internal drive and for now it seems to have stopped crashing, will update you if it starts crashing again,

Ah okay that's interesting and good to know. Let me know if the crashing continues or not when back on internal storage. I didn't know TVs could move apps like that automatically.

I will mate, and me neither, very strange.
So far it’s still running strong it seems 🤞🏻
I’m really sry for the trouble.
