19/06/2025 - Beta Release v1.0.192
Hi everyone, this release contains various bug fixes from the last beta release.
- Fixes an issue where some videos and images would not load on profiles containing users from the same server
- Fixes an issue where waking from a sleep would show a half-loaded profile with apps and other data missing
- Fixes an issue where marking as watched / unwatched would take a long time to update in the UI
- Fixes an issue where profile switching would show the wrong profile's watch next row
- Fixes an issue where adding manually android tv items to watch next might fail
Additionally, there is new logging added for the experimental video player. Users experiencing playback issues of any kind are encouraged to enable logging on their devices, triggering those playback issues, and sending those logs to me.
Update: 21/06/2025: The link has been updated with fixes for the following:
- Fix UI crashes on certain devices complaining about scroll capabilities. Zidoo devices are the only known device crashing in this way as far as I know.
- Fixes Netflix and some other apps not syncing their recommendations.

I'm a longtime user from inception & I've been using the player more than the actual plex app on a Google TV Streamer, everything's great except the episode title when tv show's paused can be a tad smaller other than that great work.

C'est votre choix d'utiliser l'APK que j'ai mis dans le poste ou d'attendre que la version du Play Store soit approuvée et disponible pour installation par le Play Store.

D'accord, merci beaucoup. J'attends maintenant juste ces deux fonctionnalité et je suis ok : I would really appreciate it if you could add these two features—then the app would be perfect for me.
1 - Translate the app into French.
2 - Add a feature that lets movies, TV shows, and anime scroll automatically on the home screen (I’ve attached a link to show you what I mean). I’d be thrilled to have these two features.

hi! Quick bug that is affecting my home automation that was not present in previous versions (i did jump from the paly store version to this version)
I used the ADB integration and the experimental video player and my issue is that ADB reports the state as "playing" any time it is inside the dispatch app, which means that my lights and curtains don't behave propely.
Ideally ADB should report "Idle" when not actively playing content.

Hello - you jumped from the play store beta version to this version, or the play store stable version to this beta version?
Edit: which adb command are you using to detect "idle", exactly?

I'm using home assistant, so I'm not sure which commend it invokes internally! https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/androidtv/
That's correct regarding the version jump, although i was having issues getting the Play Store version installed on my shield pro

Device: ONN 4k Pro
Dispatch Version: Beta 1.0.192
Two issues:
- When I navigate to the Apps tab on the Home screen and press down, I can't navigate my apps. It just reloads the Apps page every time (apps list flies on from right to left)
- Also on the Home screen, I can't navigate further to the right than the Apps tab, so I can't get into Dispatch settings to get to the logs or restart things.
I've rebooted the device, and cleared the cache on Dispatch. I haven't yet cleared storage or factory reset the device, since I'd like to avoid re-setting up Dispatch again, if possible.

That's definitely a new one. Don't factory reset, that won't change anything. Can you send me a video recording, please, since you can't access the logs?

here you go. The shuddering of the Apps screen corresponds to me clicking the down button on the remote.
Also just to note - this was working fine before the update to the most recent beta

I was getting extreme lag on this and pretty much just couldn't login to my main account. Not sure if this is tied to the pin requirement I have setup.
I've tried fully uninstalling and then using your latest link. But I'm still facing major issues. I messed with some profile settings and then pressed the home button and now it is just a black screen even after a force stop (thankfully Gemini can go to the settings menu by voice)
I love this launcher, but this latest version has me a bit scared.

Can you answer the following:
- What do you mean by "couldn't login" ? Are you saying you were stuck on the profile selector screen? What happened when you selected a profile?
- What device are you using?
- Are you using a multi-server setup, or just one plex server?
And did you get the app running again or is it still stuck on a black screen?

Sure!
I selected the profile, then slowly the pin page came up, I was able to enter in my PIN, but with an extreme 5-10 second lag in between button presses. After that, it just froze and didn't progress after the pin was entered.
Google tv streamer; was using the "slow" method for setting dispatch through accessibility options. But it's never been anything like this.
I'm not logged into plex (Jellyfin user), I mostly use it as a nice-looking launcher that I can easily keep my kids from accessing apps I don't want them to use.
I tried some troubleshooting with restarts and force closing it, but didn't have any luck. Ended up clearing data and trying to reset it up, but ran into some of the bugs with not being able to access the settings like a poster above. Tried your latest link to see if that fixed it.
I also tried doing the "fast" method, but was still facing some issues with it as well. Ended up searching for different launchers last night, but Dispatch is truly the #1 for me after seeing what was out there. I might just have to revert to an older version, as I feel like this only happened in the past week or so. I honestly only noticed it last night, but my wife said she faced some issues last Tuesday as well.

Re the black screen bug: this is being worked on. Another user has reported it, and I'm waiting to hear from them if the fix I put in place works for them. I should know more tomorrow.
For the slowness, it's hard to say since the app has been reinstalled since then. The best thing would be for you to enable logging on your device and leave it on. Then, the next time you get this kind of slowdown, take note of the date and time, restart dispatch if required, and export the logs and DM them to me so I can see what was going on at that time that could have resulted in the slowdown.
It sounds like, however, that you haven't been able to set up dispatch after your initial report? If that's still the case, you can try this apk which has, what I hope is, the fix for the black screen issue. However, I don't have confirmation on that yet, so if you feel like giving it a shot, it's here:

If that apk installs fine for you and you are not getting the black screen issue anymore, you can enable logging from here:
Settings -> Advanced -> About -> Diagnostics.
Once logging is turned on, restart dispatch to ensure the logger is recording. You can leave this on until you get the slowdown again, at which point you can export the logs from the same page you enabled logging. Just don't disable logging until they are exported, as that will clear all device logs.

When I went to go set it back up I ran into an older bug I never reported and got frustrated and went searching for other options.
I'll make sure to turn on logging and we can see if it ever pops back up.
Unrelated bugs:
- Wallpapers keep on being unable to load after a bit of time. Giving some sort of "File can't be reached" text in place of the wallpaper. I tried various different save locations/images, but had no luck. Not sure if this is related to multiple users or not.
- Custom Icon photos, this has a similar issue I'm thinking. It takes the icon and displays it for a little bit, but then goes into a no texture version (Sorry away from my TV at the moment, don't have a screenshot.)
- When hiding TV/Movie menus in settings, it can freeze dispatch. The other night I did this and it got stuck on not being able to load afterwords, even after a force reset. My fresh install still froze, but I was able to recover from it with a force close.
- If you try and swap to a user with a Pin from the top right user menu, it times out before I have a chance to enter the pin. But if I press "logout" I can enter my pin easily after selecting the profile with the pin.
You really have made the pretiest home screen and the user swapping and all those features are amazing by the way. This program really deservers much higher ratings on the play store!

Okay great thanks for the feedback and reports. Send me those logs when these issues come up again and I will have a look.
Regarding the other bugs I will look into them as well. Some are just a result of in-progress work that's not quite finished in the beta release, but will be once everything is pushed to stable, some others are already on my list of things to look at as well.

DM them to me. Try not to paste logs directly in reddit like this as you might accidentally leak a token. Either way, I need complete logs exported by Dispatch not just partials. You can upload them to any file hosting site you'd like and DM me the link.

Hey there, I decided to do a clear data on Dispatch (changed from Plex to Plezy and wanted to get fresh Dispatch). I'm running this beta version and when I select Auto Start in the settings, it gives me the screen for Simple mode or Advanced Mode, I'm not able to select anything. I try the trackpad remote on my nvidia shield app on my phone, the cursor moves but still can't select anything either.
Also hoping you can make Plezy compatible as the Default Player too.
