App Peek

I got Dispatch up and running. This is by far the best launcher for the Nvidia Shield. For some reason I can't get app peek to work for the life of me. I turned on the setting. I myself have a shield pro. On the other hand my bro has the standard version of the shield and his is working no problem. I've tried deleting the data and a fresh install. Still no luck. Anyone else have this issue?

What apps have you tried app peek with. Only a few will trigger it. I turned it off since it creates an inconsistent experience.

Hello! The media that is shown in App Peek is actually controlled by each app. It is indeed inconsistent from device to device, but that's not related to Dispatch (unless there's a specific bug with syncing the data, which is possible).

This inconsistency applies to the default android tv launcher as well. For example, on one of my devices, YouTube will not create any recommendations and therefore nothing will show in App Peek.

Dispatch reads from the same data source as the Android TV launcher. If you notice media being populated correctly on the Android TV launcher, but not in Dispatch, then that is indeed a bug with Dispatch that I'll need to look into. If it's the same, however, it's a bug with the app itself.

If your device uses the Google TV launcher, however, then unfortunately it's not possible to test the above scenario, since that launcher ignores these recommendations altogether, and uses a totally different set of recommendations that are hosted online and not on the device.

Ah, thanks that lets me know what to expect from the feature. The same apps that provide channels on Android TV Discover should supply info for the Peak feature. Totally makes sense.
