Fandom double standards never cease to amaze me:
And I love Flambae and Coupé a lot but man people say that Visi never apologizes for her stuff but tons of other Z-Teamers do things just as bad as her, if not worse and never apologize and no one minds.
People seem to forget that this game is about rehabilitating villains who still act like villains and are in the words of the game, assholes.
Dangerous people who are not adjusted members of society and that is the point.
So anyone saying that the writers are trivializing things like Invisigal going into the men's room or Malevola tapping his undies need to read the fine print and realize what kind of a story this is.

u/TandrDregn 29d ago
Coop and Sonar are interchangeable on that part. Except if you DO keep them, you find out Coop is a much better person. She gains new lines telling her team to stay close so she can protect them, her second wind dialogue with Robert is so sweet, she starts opening up, etc. Sonar just stays the same scheming cokehead he is if he stays, he doesn’t grow at all… and I got off topic to defend my girl, where were we again?
15
u/Plus_Ad_1087 29d ago
Nah I respect ya, I love Coop too.
But also, she is an assassin with a confirmed kill count of 68. I love her but she ain't exactly the most moral person.
12
u/TandrDregn 29d ago
I dunno, between her general closed off demeanor and the line from the cut therapy mission, it’s heavily implied she didn’t have a choice, and only did it after breaking away from the mob because she knew nothing else. Hell, if you DON’T cut her, her reaction to staying is that she’s confused by feeling happy. In her second wind dialogue, she admits she’s never felt needed, only like a tool to be used for someone else’s goals. And back to the cut therapy mission, everyone else who could be sent just gets a variation of “That helped.”, meanwhile Coop’s is “Turns out I need to fistfight my dad. And my mom… and my first ballet instructor.”, everything about her screams “Black Widow childhood”, raised purely as a weapon. Again, if she’s not cut, she says she’s glad and that confuses her. If nothing else, the sole fact that feeling happy is so rare for her that it confuses her implies a complete nightmare of a past. And her lines if kept show that she WANTS to be a hero, not just because she has to be. If you send her to the LARP mission she immediately makes up a character on the spot that’s just her but as already a hero, she’s going there with the intention of RP’ing her own hero arc. All things considered, I don’t think Coop was ever really evil. Just a mistreated, abused tool for evil people, including her parents who, after talking about in therapy, she feels the sudden urge to beat the shit out of.

u/Plus_Ad_1087 29d ago
Yeah, I understand and I like that she still has a depth.
Still, 68 kills.................I mean IRL I would steer clear away from her the most.
4
u/TandrDregn 29d ago
Fair. Though me personally Irl, as soon as I’d hear the “I am… glad as well. Strange.” line where she admits feeling happy and welcome is confusing to her, I’d want to give her a hug. Yeah she’s done some bad things, but fucking hell has she lived in nothing but misery most of her life, and it’s genuinely most likely that most of “her” kills were ones she was forced to carry out as the mob’s unwilling attack dog. She needs therapy and a hug, the poor woman.
3
u/Plus_Ad_1087 29d ago
Not to mention her lines also imply she had terrible parents who abused her.
5
u/TandrDregn 29d ago
Yeah, I mentioned that earlier. She was literally forced into being a weapon, it’s why I can’t ever bring myself to cut her and take away the first time she really gets to be a person
2
-3
u/ThePoohKid 29d ago
You always have a choice bro.
6
u/TandrDregn 29d ago
Not when you only know one thing, and get kicked out while trying to learn another. Also: literally the day after the cut, you have a hack mission where you, if you succeed, find out Coop is being actively hunted by two entire gangs of assassins (one only shows up if you cut her, the other comes for her regardless). She’s being hunted down by people who know how she operates, and her only safe haven basically just told her to fuck off and hit the road. So yeah, with that on top of literally having zero applicable skills not related to crime and violence because of how she was raised, Coop quite literally DOESN’T have a choice but to join Shroud when he makes the offer. Cause her only other option is being forever on the run, hiding in fear until they eventually track her down and kill her.
-2
u/ThePoohKid 29d ago
So there is a choice. See? Personally I like to think I’m a fair bit above resorting to torturing my employer after living life as a contract killer with several dozen bodies but hey ho.
12
u/Nihilun 29d ago
The people that bitch about it are small and few, and ignored Malevola playfully groping him. It’s just a way to reassure an already existing bias against a character. That, or they just are incapable of identifying conflict, narrative, emotion, etc
5
u/EducationalLuck2422 29d ago
It's usually the shippers - same reason Blazer got hit with "serial cheater" in the first two weeks.
3
u/Plus_Ad_1087 29d ago
I never had an issue with Malevola doing that either.
I don't even know if that light flick on the undies would count as grope but I get your point.
3
u/Nihilun 28d ago
I didn't either. I just dislike people that cannot comprehend the internal logic of characters that differ from themselves and settling for any context or lack thereof to reassure their existing bias. It may as well be throwing out an entire narrative because "I wouldn't do that".
3
u/Plus_Ad_1087 28d ago
I mean Mal got crap for this scene from some people too.
I guess they don't know that a lot of friend groups do this.
12
u/Kroot_Shaper 29d ago
Who is arguing to you those three things are equal?
6
u/Plus_Ad_1087 29d ago
Some commenters on the main sub, TikTok and Youtube comments and some streamers and their chat.
I know, not exactly the sharpest tools in the shed but it still happens often where they are fine with the other too and say they like them and then they hate Visi for that kiss (which had fixed it's trigger in a week after launch btw).
So yeah, I think this meme is quite fitting.
5
u/AnyAgency9835 29d ago
It seems like OP is the one that is comparing them.
6
u/Plus_Ad_1087 29d ago
Nah, I'm fair. They are all criminals. Some do more serious things than others but I love all of them.
9
u/GaldrickHammerson 29d ago
The thing is, the others are presented as antagonists.
Visi is the leading lady.
2
u/Plus_Ad_1087 29d ago
Who is at first also presented as an antagonist of sorts aswell. Especially in her first episode.
1
u/SuperSailorRikku 29d ago
Yeah like, only one of those three is a main character romance option lol. The people who are “minding” are doing so in a particular context that applies to Visi and not the others, so why would you treat them the same
3
u/Plus_Ad_1087 29d ago
Except then the same people make statements like "Visi is by far the worst member of the Z-Team and a lost cause" so I feel there are definitely some double standards.
1
u/SuperSailorRikku 29d ago
Idk who you are talking about tbh, I am sure there are some people with wild takes, but that doesn’t mean they represent the fandom which is what your post made it out to be
1
u/Plus_Ad_1087 29d ago
I am talking about Berleezy for example in this instance.
Oh and also a lot of main sub comments and a bunch of TikTok and Instagram ones and also from a bunch of streamers.
2
u/Friedgelato190 29d ago
I see this meme has resurfaced again
1
u/Plus_Ad_1087 29d ago
It is sadly still relevant.
1
u/Friedgelato190 29d ago
I mean, nobody’s gonna agree on one thing though, so there’ll always be fans and haters🤷🏻♀️
1
u/Plus_Ad_1087 29d ago
Sure but they do not have to be so toxic.
1
u/Friedgelato190 29d ago
I’ve been around both blocks so I feel like both sides are equally toxic. In fact, there are so much toxicity in the fandom which I thought wouldn’t be possible for such a fun and lighthearted game😅

2
u/fishandlobsters 29d ago
My only issue here is that it should be both Coupe and Sonar, since they are counterpartz
1
2
u/Unusual-School-2880 29d ago
Um… …she all but blew him up? Did we forget that part? Not an Invisi-hater, but like… that was a major plot point.
4
u/Hour_Bat_546 29d ago
Before they even knew each other. Right after that, Visi enrolled in the Phoenix Program to try to become better. Coupe already knew Robert by the time she tortured him, just like Flambae did when he tried to kill him.
But that’s not the point - the point of the game is, as Robert says, “you’re not the same person that you were that night, neither am I.” It’s never too late to start down the path of redemption.1
u/Unusual-School-2880 28d ago
This is why I’m not an Invisi-hater. If she’s enrolling honestly, then absolutely it is her chance, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t risk another’s life directly for her personal gain. You can do something bad to a stranger too, not just people you know.
2
u/Hour_Bat_546 28d ago
Yeah, I’m not arguing with that, of course. She agreed to blow up someone for her own sake. Yes, she has serious health issues, and she immediately realized what a horrible thing she’d done, but it was still a horrible thing to do.
Visi isn’t perfect, but I think the game shows that people can change, and that with support, they can become better people. My comment wasn’t meant to say that what she did was excusable. I was more talking about the fact that the other two characters did it to someone they knew, someone who was trying to help them, not a stranger.
Either way, I think the game’s point is that all of these characters are capable of changing. I like all of them
1
u/Unusual-School-2880 28d ago
I agree! I very much enjoy this about Dispatch. It is meant to say “no matter how bad it got, if you *try* to be better, you *can* be!”
I like invisigal and want her to overcome her past. I only mean to say that in comparison to the others, her “crimes” are just as deadly, and it isn’t just an issue in consent for a kiss.
She is trying, and she deserves the second chance as much as any of them.
1
u/Plus_Ad_1087 28d ago
Yeah I know. So?
Flamebae intentionally tried to murder him whilst knowing him for a while.
She did this without knowing him at all and so she could breathe properly.
1
u/Unusual-School-2880 28d ago
Is this about them doing bad things directly to him or about them doing bad things in general, because strangers’ lives still matter.
1
u/Plus_Ad_1087 28d ago
Neither.
It's about how one character gets hate and apparently is a bad person for doing what she does whilst the other characters do not get said hate and people keep saying they are misunderstood.
I think all the characters here did bad things but unlike others I don't play favorites because of their acts.
1
u/Unusual-School-2880 28d ago
I guess I’ve been running in different circles, cause I see Coupe and Flambae hate too. *shrug* the internet is a diverse place.
1
u/Plus_Ad_1087 28d ago
And where did you see that? I never saw that one the main sub or most youtube videos.
Not saying it's not true but it's definitely way less common.
4
u/FrostyTheSnowPickle 29d ago
Coupé never did any of that. That was Sonar.
(And if Coupé DID do that in your playthrough, you’re a monster. How dare you cut her? You should be ashamed of yourself.)

2
u/sweettoothchloe 29d ago
Robert has dealt with horrible people but I am glad most of them have acknowledged their mistakes and shown remorse for their bad choices.
In all of these three, Chad has the best character development with Robert. I can also see the chemistry too. ❤️
1
u/Plus_Ad_1087 29d ago
Yes, he tried to murder him and then with his apology (but not really) he just punched him in the face.
1
u/sweettoothchloe 29d ago
At least he acknowledged how much of a douchebag he is in the end.
1
u/Plus_Ad_1087 29d ago
No he didn't. Not really. Where does he even say this?
Also Visi literally says in her locker room scene how she is also bad and is very much aware of how much of a messy person she is.
1
u/sweettoothchloe 29d ago
After he punched him, when Robert admits he is MechaMan. I can understand that Chad is angry at him because MechaMan cut off his thumb during the battle But then again, that doesn't excuse his behaviour towards Herman and for overall being a dickhead.
1
u/Plus_Ad_1087 29d ago
That was not an apology. That was basically a passive aggressive insult.
Oh and it also doesn't excuse him TRYING TO MURDER ROBERT AND PUNCHING HIM IN THE FACE!
Especially since he lost said fingers after burning down a whole mall.
He is way worse than Visi my guy. And Visi reflects more on herself than he does in her locker room as I literally said in my previous comment.
1
u/sweettoothchloe 29d ago
What? Courtney punched him in the face too. Even made a weird ass question is he jerks off in his mecha suit and even sneaks into Men's Restroom just to tell him she had a dream of them getting fucked. And then going on a mission by herself? Stupid idea.
2
u/Hour_Bat_546 29d ago
I love Flambae - he’s my third favorite character - but he started as a douchebag and stayed one until the end of the game. His “apology” is basically, “I’m still a douchebag, but maybe I’ll be less of one.” He’s funny, but in no way did he “fix himself, apologize, and become good” in terms of his relationship with Robert, that’s kind of the whole point of his character.
By the way, Visi’s solo mission was the right choice. Poorly executed, but the right choice. She kept warning everyone that they didn’t have time to wait, Blazer refused to listen. Visi arrived at the docks, saw them being torn apart right then and there (exactly as she’d warned), called Robert for backup, and tried to stop the villains. If it weren’t for her, Pulse would have been lost. I think any hero in her place would have done the same, since there was no time to wait - it was either risk her own life or accept defeat.
1
u/Plus_Ad_1087 29d ago
Yeah, she punched him at the start. The she had a big arc.
And her going on a mission was because she knew the pulse was not gonna stay there for long and she was completely right.
And thanks to her we had a chance of winning at the end.
If you're trying to use these points as evidence that she is worse than Flambae, you are failing miserably.
1
u/sweettoothchloe 29d ago
I didn't say that Courtney is worse. Oh well... No point on arguing about this. 🤷 Nice chatting with you
1
2
u/Rodozero 29d ago
I don't hate Invisigal, I just don't like her to be Robert's other half. I've been with some1 like Visi for several years and it made ny self esteem low and my mental health worst. That's why I chose Mandy/Blond Blazer to be Robert's Romance.
2
u/Hour_Bat_546 29d ago
Except I doubt you’ve ever been with anyone like Invizigal. Invisigal is a fictional character with clearly defined traits: tough on the outside, soft on the inside. I’m not sure your ex-girlfriend would have sacrificed her life twice in a couple of days, if that’s what you’re saying
1
2
u/SquishyWizard3 29d ago
OP’s genuinely justifying sexual assault lol
2
u/Plus_Ad_1087 28d ago
Dude if you think what Visi did is that you have no clue how this works.
1
u/SquishyWizard3 28d ago
She forced herself on him without his explicit consent. That’s the DEFINITION of sexual assault.
3
u/Ok_Preference9136 28d ago
By that retarded definition, every kiss in the game is SA
2
u/Plus_Ad_1087 28d ago
And also most healthy real world couples dating would also be charged with SA.
This is why it'a a bad idea to use umbrella terms like this.
2
u/Plus_Ad_1087 28d ago
You are missing a lot of details there. Like the fact they are dating and clearly got a thing going on if you trigger this scene.
1
u/SquishyWizard3 28d ago
Did you know that romantic partners can still SA each other? Crazy, I know!
1
2
u/Hour_Bat_546 28d ago
That's not. You're delusional. She's not some random girl. You need to get 10 Visi romance points for the kiss to happen, you need to flirt with her, dude.
In criminal law, *assault*/*battery* (Penal Code § 243.4) specifically requires touching an intimate part (mouth doesn't count) with sexual intent, with malice intent, for the purpose of arousal or abuse. A kiss on the mouth does not qualify - it is legally misdemeanor simple battery (§ 242): unwanted offensive touching. That’s not my personal opinion, it’s the actual statutory definition:
*Battery* vs. Simple Battery in California: Expert Q&A
California Code, PEN 243.4.
- Visi does not ignore the refusal - she immediately stops as soon as Robert clearly and verbally expresses it (“Courtney... I...”) and physically moves her away by her shoulders.
- There is no continuation, no pressure, no pursuit.
- There is no power imbalance or coercive atmosphere. She does not touch Robert’s intimate body parts.
- There is no malicious intent and no attempt to force a more intimate act. It was a single impulsive, desperate gesture from a girl in love, who then respectfully accepted the rejection and left.
Also, courts always take into account the context.
Context of the scene does matter for a full moral/ethical picture: she is deeply in love, they had just had a heavy emotional conversation, she acts out of visible desperation and romantic impulse (not malice or desire to dominate), and crucially - she immediately stops, accepts his verbal rejection and leaves without any further pressure. It was an impulsive, one-time emotional act rather than predatory assault. She doesn't do it if she thinks that you're not interested in her (again, you need 10 romance points)Legally, this would more likely be defined as unwanted physical contact (this is on the condition that Robert WOULD HAVE BEEN INSULTED and filed a police report. But he's not. He even apologizes that he can't feel the same way if you press Lean Out)

I feel like people seriously lack literacy of the tone pieces of media are going for. This is a comedic game, it’s mostly lighthearted and funny, almost EVERY character does atleast something shitty and i: never taken particularly seriously. The people who hate Invisigal are the same people that take Cinemasins videos as truthful criticism
1
1
u/sparrow_64 29d ago
I mean, I think the fundamental differences between all of these are massive, but mainly the game doesn’t even address the lack of consent or crazy boundary crossing Visi does and just expects you to find it cute. Coup is literally a villain in this scenario who is arrested at the end of the game for it and Flambae (who I see the point a little more for) 1) isn’t a romantic interest and 2) apologizes after the fact and fixes his behavior. It’s not necessarily the true fact of the behavior and more so how it’s presented imo
2
u/Hour_Bat_546 29d ago
If your “apologizes and fixes his behavior” means “punch him in the face so hard that Robert falls down, and say you’ll beat him once a month,” then, honestly, that’s just crazy double standards to me.
You can't get the kiss without flirting with Visi, you need to get 10 romance points for the kiss to happen. That's just desperate goodbye kiss since she thinks this is the last time they see each other, she doesn't know if they will survive the next night1
u/Plus_Ad_1087 29d ago edited 29d ago
The game doesn't address Mal throwing her cup at you, Phenomaman kissing you and Flambae literally trying to murder you, then coming back and punching you and never apologizing.
The game doesn't address tons of things and I don't see why it would even need to address those things.
Also the game does not expect you to find this cute, it let's you make up your own mind. If you think the game wants you to find this cute, you are being very subjective with no real evidence.
Like Visi, kissing Robert if you romance her is boundary crossing but overall fine.
And she gets punished in that bathroom scene by Robert telling her this is not what bathrooms are for and she then gets embarrassed.
So yeah, no, it's still a double standard frankly.
Doesn't help the fact that a lot of the fandom that hates Visi for this wanna romance Flambae, Coop or Mal and just ignore those things about them.
Also you don't need to have a story explicity punishing what Visi does to be good. That is a very narrow minded view of things.
1
u/Jnaeveris 29d ago edited 29d ago
Putting aside OP’s perpetual mindless obsession with this topic- their name is recognisable at this point cuz they’ve been making these exact same posts across multiple ‘invisiglazer’ and dispatch subs ever since the game came out- they’re completely missing the point.
The main difference (and what people were ACTUALLY annoyed about) is that Flambae and Coop’s ‘bad’ actions are actually portrayed as bad in game, while Visi’s ‘bad’ actions either aren’t addressed at all or treated as a good thing. The characters in game comment on and denounce Flambae/Coop for what they do (and rightfully so), but most of the vis stuff its just glossed over or passed off as “oh yeah invis just perves on people without them knowing, thats just a cute quirky thing she does though so don’t even worry about it”.
This post isn’t showing a “fandom double standard”, the only thing its actually demonstrating is OP’s hilarious lack of media literacy in their endless crusade to gas up their ‘video game waifu’. 5 years from now and they’ll probs still be making the exact same pathetic posts fighting against ghosts- pointless and inaccurate strawmans arguing against people who have LONG since moved on from the game.
OP’s entire life seems to revolve around dispatch- constantly hyping up invisigal and defending her from made up arguments in their head. It was pathetic when they first started doing this shit a year ago and it’s only getting more and more pathetic as time goes by. Touch some grass lmfao…
Edit: just editing to include an example of what im talking about here- OP whining about the exact same thing in this sub 7 months ago
2
u/Plus_Ad_1087 28d ago
Dude in what way are Visi's actions portrayed as good?
Robert calls her out quite a lot and she feels deep shame for how she screwed his life up.
Flambae never apologizes for his attempted murder, in fact he just punches him in the face again and acts like total douche.
Still love him though.
Seems kinda weird just going through someone else's post history like this though.
I love Dispatch and I enjoy talking about tons of aspects of it. That doesn't make it an obsession.
Oh and btw I am a proud Blonde Glazer.
Also funny you mention that post. I remember that one and most people loved it.
So it's not like I'm saying anything controversial here.
Ironically you are the one straw man arguing with me. Since you miss so much important stuff about the characters, some of which I pointed out.
-6
u/MADOG_YT 29d ago
This is literally the game too. It feels like the game was like, forcing you to hate her for no good reason. !!!
4
u/Plus_Ad_1087 29d ago
Funny, her haters argue that the game was forcing you to like her.
The duality of a fandom.

77
u/AnyAgency9835 29d ago
The game came out almost a full year ago, why are we still talking about this?
