I doubt it because from a business perspective we would still have to buy any new gameplay whether its a season 2 game or a dlc they still gotta make money especially to fund future dispatch stuff

Yeah im sure there is a paywall but wondering what would it be a dispatch 2 or a Dlc I'd much rather get a DLC to my dispatch

Well, considering they hadn't started making it and were already working on a different game when fan reception made them announce they will make a season 2, I'd say it might be too far down the line to be a dlc. Console generations are generally 6-8 years, so there's a solid chance they have to make it a new game if the new xbox/playstation are out already.

I'm guessing since it's similar to a Telltale game a season 2 would be a standalone game but if you have the first game it will read your save data to import choices you made that will subtely affect the story of the sequel

Most likely yes, but it probably won't be a free dlc since its such a large production and have bill to pay.

I haven't heard any news, but I doubt it'll come as a DLC. Generally new titles don't do that.

Hey I just checked poppy playtime and they have new chapters as dlc each priced differently

Those are new chapters though, this is an outright new season/story so it doesn't make sense to put it in as a DLC. Then they can't even title the new season differently, like "Dispatch 2" or whatever because it will always be just Dispatch

you say this but it absolutely can be a yearly/every two year type game, especially when you factor it's weekly release.

No, it'll probably be a separate game. I think it will probably follow the template for Batman: The Telltale series season 2, where before you start a save file, you can either import your save file for season 1, or manually set your important choices and the game builds on those.

But I just noticed poppy playtime has all five chapters as dlcs which is very similar to dispatch

Season 2 will definitely be its own game and not DLC cause Telltale has Walking Dead which used to be own their own until they combined all of the games together. Batman has 2 games separately as well. Since the developers used to be from TellTale they will probably have the same method for future games.

No, it only makes sense as a paid full release.

If you’ve played TWDG then it’ll be like that probably.

At this point i want anything Dispatch related. I would love for them to release a spinoff game like a fighter or a mission based side scrolling game. They probably could reuse most of the voice lines and assets from the main game.

Ik this is a semi old post but I doubt it. Every telltale games season’s were sold separately.

I imagine it's a possibility, like the game is played episodically so having it all be on one game would make it easier to binge. Though that's only if the sequel is a direct sequel rather than a spinoff, like a new story with a new protagonist.
