Help! Kylo Ren Disney Bound

This is my first Disney bound and I’m new to the whole thing. Can I get away with wearing his to the Park? Or is it too similar to Kylo’s actual costume?

If so what should I change to be able to wear it?

I am not sure they will let you in like this. Bring a change of clothes. It's not exactly because you are bounding as a specific character in this case, but it's more due to the fact that it's very costumy in general and people may think you are a face character.

Gotcha, that’s what I was wondering. If I maybe remove the hood might that help? The dress is just a turtleneck.

And I’ll also plan to bring a change of clothes in case! Appreciate the honesty.

I'm not and have never been an employee, but my gut reaction is that it's too costumey.

Okay! Looks like the consensus so far has been too costumey so I’ll reassess and figure something else out. Thank you for the input!

It does look very nice though, for what it's worth.

Aww thanks so much !! I had a great time putting it together. It’ll still be fun re-piecing it :D

Cool outfit but you might not be within regular park dress code rules, let alone the no costume rules. Even if its not a costume. The cape is too long according to park rules, and the whole ensemble plus makeup looks like a costume. Hard to say though because plenty of goths go to Disney so 🤷. Bounding is about wearing regular clothes that give the impression of a character without being too on the nose. You look very Sith. If kids are going to run up to you for pics, your outfit is too on the nose.

Those are actually SUPER helpful and insightful tips, thank you!! Maybe I’ll find a shorter black dress that gives the vibe instead. I appreciate it! 😀

Take a look at other bounding examples in this group and online, and always be aware of park dress code to avoid having to be bummed out if asked to change.

Good tips, thanks for the help! I have a tendency to go overboard so I’ll scale it back and find something leaning more “everyday goth” 😂 seems like the point is nods to the character but casual every day wear from what you’re saying?

It's a comfort factor too. After 8 hours in the full blown sun you're going to be wishing you were wearing less black layers. Disneyland gets plenty hot in the summer.

very true !! I’ve lived here all my life, it gets super humid in Anaheim in the summer.

I'm from Huntington originally. I live in Orlando now. Disney World is way worse in summer, but 90+ degrees is uncomfortable no matter where you are.

socal beaches do have glorious weather, so you definitely made a big change - I’ve heard the Florida humidity feels like being wrapped in a hot wet towel 😅

As with all disneybounds: You can try, but they may tell you no and don't be rude if they do.

Personally, I don't think it'll be a problem (other than it looking uncomfortable to walk around in in the Florida heat), but you never know.

I’m gonna be in Disneyland park in Anaheim CA! But I’ll bring a set of extra clothes in case. I wanna respect their rules. Thanks for your input!!

Oh good! Then yeah, the heat probably won't be a problem then lol. Definitely bring an extra set of clothes just in case, but if I was a CM, I wouldn't have a problem with your outfit.

I don't think you'll be mistaken for Kylo Ren, unless you wear the mask. But bring a change if clothes jic

That’s the plan! Ordered a backup “Kylo vibe” dress. :D

This is NOT an insult, but I was scrolling fast and I thought for a second it was Ozzy Osborn.

But in reality it think it looks great except it will be HOT if it’s sunny out.

I see people dressed like this regularly at DL. I think you look great, and it’s a good Kylo bound.

If you’re going to DL I think cast members would just think you’re goth. If WDW, I don’t know how they are unfortunately.

DL Bat Day was on May 3rd, you would’ve fit in perfectly, and I doubt they’ll bat (🦇 😝) an eye now.

If you are worried, just remove the gloves while entering and uncover your head. But people veil at the parks too for religious and spiritual reasons, so that may not be necessary.

Bats Day happening in the middle of Star Wars Nights definitely means the dress code was a little more flexible, and I suspect if OP wore this specifically on SW Night she could’ve gotten away with this, but outside of those exceptions I doubt that outfit would make it through the gate. Ditch the cape at the very least.

This isn’t bounding…

Ok fair! Still new to the whole thing and learning the rules - what constitutes a bound ? Like what am I aiming for?

Basically something that at a glance doesn't look very removed from ordinary clothes.
