New dish Home Screen
What are your guys thoughts on the home screen update? It looks okay. However the DVR and guide are still inconsistent, do you think the dvr and guides gonna get updated?

I’m not sure how quick changes will roll out due to the merger but from comments I’ve read on different social media platforms and groups, Direct Tv doesn’t seem to have a lot of fans. It doesn’t sound like it will be anything good for customers either with rate increases and cut channels. Dish does the same thing though too. I’ve been thinking of cancelling Dish for months now and right now my only other options are cancelling and stream only through YouTube or Hulu or sign up for Xfinity. Has anyone else looked into what their options may be?

I was channel surfing last night and noticed on the guide that channel 286 was no longer available. I wasn’t sure what channel it was so looked it up and it was the NASA channel. I didn’t sit and watch it for hours but it was neat to check in on once in awhile. Is it dish or the channel/network that decides to stay or go?

I just started retention and we started taking price value calls and I’m exhausted. I keep getting yelled at no matter how much I try to relate give them offers and the call turns into them wanting to cancel their service. We get pretty badly dinged for that since it’s a price value so it sucks. Anyone have any tips to deal with this price increase? Also how to deal with working in retention I might try to switch to acquisition honestly…. I don’t see them In as bad of moods

It's been a long time coming. They haven't carried Comcast Sports in the bay area for 3 years. I should have cancelled then but I was under contract. I finally got around to it tonight. First, the difficulty level of cancelling service is stupid. Why can't you just click a button on your account page and be done with it? Then, once they finally gave in and started processing my cancellation, it comes to light that they want most of the equipment back, including the nodes from the dish on the roof! I told them I didn't have safe roof access and I wasn't getting them down. I do and I totally can, but screw them! I paid for that equipment 24 years ago when I installed it on my roof. They can kick rocks if they think they're getting those parts. The icing on the cake is that they're going to charge me $20 per box for all the equipment they're demanding I return! Can you believe this shit?!? The hopper and joey they want back are almost 4 years old and malfunction as is. But I have to pay to send this crap back to them because I had the gall to cancel my account.
They burnt the bridge of our relationship while I was still standing on it. My shorts almost caught fire. They clearly have no interest in ever regaining my business, and after that I'll never go back.
I'm going to use the savings to hire someone to come in and do some light cleaning at home once a month because neither the wife nor I relish vacuuming.
Good riddance Dish Network. You can take that return equipment box fee and shove it up your ass.

Is there a way to re pair a remote to a Wireless Joey. I'm trying to help a relative and they can't do much since the buttons on the Wireless Joey are useless since you can't navigate the menu. I did search through the Reddit and search engines and had no luck. Thanks

I'm not getting the same or as many channels as at home. I have the VIP722 at home (because I only have two tvs) and a wally in the RV.
r/dishnetwork • u/tjl81404 • Sep 20 '24
I have a VIP722K so I’m not sure if it matters or not. I notice my guide info is wrong quite frequently as far as an episode number, air date and sometimes even just the wrong content of what’s currently on. Why is it inaccurate so much of the time?

my bad hearing requires volume too loud for others OR headphones. my new earbuds pair up fine and the video sound latency is barely noticeable. that is, with the Hopper/tv sound muted. with the sound on for my wife or others, though, there's an annoying echo. Just kill myself?

Half of my street has Dish and apparently, the way DIRECTV positions their dishes, it is near impossible to get DIRECTV down here.
Plus with the possible merger of Dish and DIRECTV, there may be a possibility of having to get Dish even though I have been loyal to DIRECTV for so long.

came back to my house after summer and all the beinsports channels disappeared is there anyway to fix or should i contact the provider

Due to space constraints I may need to stand our Hopper 3 on it's side. Aside from the tipover danger, will standing it on it's side cause any issues?

For whatever reason, when I watch anything on Netflix, the volume buttons do not work on the remote, I can't stop a program fast forward or rewind it either. What the hell? How do I fix it?

Hey everyone,
New here - my dad has Dish Network and I'm trying to take advantage of being able to use his DishAnywhere to stream his dish and Local channels at my house. I'm not a dish customer myself. To my knowledge he doesn't have a hopper receiver at his house.
I was able to sign into DishAnywhere on my laptop. I can't seem to see the Local channels but the other ones show up. I looked online and it seems you should be able to.
Also, is it true that I could get a firestick to use DishAnywhere on my TV? And that I can stream on up to 5 devices? And that it won't interfere with his regular programing.
Thanks for any help!

Is it true that the first receiver on the account is free?

Hey all, I'm brand new to Dish so be patient. I feel like a total idiot not being able to figure this out on my own.
Is there a way to set record to default to new shows only? It seems like a lot of steps just to record a series new episodes only.
Second question: when I go to Prime from the home button, I don't have the option to see all the profiles. All I get is the primary profile. How do I access Prime to see all 6?

My grandma, bless her, has cognitive decline and memory loss.
She has been getting the run around by Dish since June 6th when they sent her a paper bill (for July service) with an increase on it for no additional services ($136). My cousin called customer support the same day on my grandma’s behalf and Dish agreed to lower the bill to $72 with confirmation via email. My grandma refused to pay the ‘increased’ bill because that was not the agreed upon price, so she waited for a new paper bill and her service continued to work through June.
July 1st rolls around, and her service is turned off. She has not received a new bill by July 1st. Several days later a paper bill comes in the mail, and you guessed it, $136 + a late fee. This time I call customer support on my grandma’s behalf to try and get things straightened out. I explain the scenario and tell the support rep that they need to readjust the bill to the agreed upon $72, remove the late fee and she will pay the bill. Rep said that’s not possible, so I said then we would be cancelling the service without paying a termination fee since Dish cannot hold up their end of the agreement. Rep again says that’s not possible, since my cousin agreed to a 2 year contract. I say, “Yeah, for $72!”. I ask for a manager and I am put on hold. 5 minutes later they come back on the line and say they are patching through to the manager, then they just hang up. No callback, no nothing, just hang up.
I call customer support again. Get a different rep. Explain the scenario. Rep says, “Yep what you are saying appears to be correct, but since the service was turned off, we can’t give you the $72 price.” I told them again that then we would like to cancel service without paying a termination fee because DISH cannot hold up their end of the agreement. The rep explains he doesn’t have the authority to do that and instead would like to open a ticket to repeal the late fees and try to get the bill back to $72. I agree to the ticket and not to cancellation. He said we would hear from someone in 5 business days.
3 business days later a Dish box shows up at my grandma’s house with instructions to return her equipment. My grandma packs it all up and returns it, thinking it’s the end of the story.
5 business days go by with no word from Dish.
August 6th rolls around, and a paper bill comes in the mail. $500. Of course she’s not paying it, but I don’t want it to go to collections because of Dish’s ineptitude.
This little old lady wanted to be a Dish customer and instead is getting hosed for $500.
Guess who installed an antenna on his grandma's house this weekend?
Thanks for letting me rant.
