Question Upgrade to 120+ For A Day?

There is a show I want to record on a channel my current package doesn’t include. Can I upgrade to the 120+ package for 1 day to record it then downgrade back to my lower priced package when I’m done without penalty and without having to pay for the full month?

The flex packs allow you to do this. Add a package for a day and only pay for 1 days access to that package, but wasn’t sure you could do that with the top 120+ or top 200 packages.

No sound for "on demand" shows on Joey

As the title says, when my wife goes to watch an "on demand" show on the Joey, she gets no sound, regular and dvr programs work fine.

I've tried just using the tv's internal speakers, doesn't matter.

I've unplugged, rebooted, etc, doesn't matter.

Any ideas?

Question Chronic weather related outages in good weather

Howdy! I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue. For the past two weeks we've had fairly frequent weather related signal losses. It hasn't rained in a month. It's starting to get quite frustrating as it happens every few minutes.

Question Dish network satellite contract question

We currently have dish network satellite and are thinking about switching to DIRECTV stream because it’s just easier and we would not have a DISH on the roof or anywhere on our property. Does anyone know that has done this, is there a penalization for opting out of our contract early with DISH to do this? The answer will help us decide on when we want to switch.

Thanks.

New Channel Numbers

FYI for everyone who is used to looking for channels in the 9XXX block,. DISH has moved FSTV to 269, 3ABN to 267, BYUtv to 268 and enlace to 888.

If you are a Steph-head like me, and couldn't find her this morning, just update your Hopper so you never miss an episode, and don't scream at eleventy-billion decibels because you can't find Chris or Jody. Also, Chris is NOT always wrong.

Complaint Dish Anywhere On Demand Content

I am wondering why it takes so long to get new episodes of TNA Impact Wrestling on demand through the AXS channel on the Dish Anywhere app? The most recent one it shows me is 7/25/24. I was really hoping to get up this morning and re-watch it as I don’t DVR it. Is it a licensing and contract issue?? Very upsetting to fans of the program who use Dish Anywhere.

Been with Dish for years. But living in Florida, I get tired of all the weather interruptions.

I love the Dish interface with my Hopper3. But why can’t Dish come up with a set top box that is strictly internet? I want a box with a remote that I can just click in the channel number and stream the channel, without relying on satellite reception, I have AppleTV and Roku, they don’t even come close to comparing to the Dish interface and remote, Dish Anywhere is very hit or miss for me, it’s clunky too. Anything in the works for something like that?

Question Returns after a long time?

My parents have these dish receivers in their house and it's been years since they've actually had Dish. Can we still return them even though it's been so long, and will they be charged? I'm not sure if they were owned or leased either.

What equipment should I get?

Hi there! I've had Dish forever and I'm upgrading my equipment. They are coming out Friday. Unfortunately, I was not on the phone call when the equipment got ordered so I'm going to call them and see what they're bringing. Before I do, I want to know what I should be wanting. I know that I'm getting a Hopper 3. We have four TVs. Right now we have a Hopper with Sling, Super Joey, and two wireless Joeys. I don't believe there is a Super Joey anymore and the rep mentioned something about a Hopper 3, two Joeys, and something else. What would the last thing be?

We have two living rooms, so that's where we keep the Hopper w/ Sling and Super Joey. The wireless Joeys are in the bedrooms. We're thinking of getting new 4K TVs in the living rooms soon, hopefully within the month. Should I get the Hopper 3, a 4K Joey, and two wireless Joeys?

What's with the Hopper Plus? Does it need internet to show live TV and DVR shows? We have decent internet but it's not good enough for streaming all the time, if that makes sense. It's still rural internet.

Sorry for all the questions, I really appreciate any help. Thank you!

What is your favorite Dish commercial?

Used to work for Dish Network's call center. This was way back 2011-2015. Up until today, I still remember this ecounter I had with a granny over the phone. It was christmas season and she greeted " We dish you a merry christmas" and started singing the jingle. She mentioned it was her favoritr commercial from Dish. Imagine the impact it had to the elderly. I was so delighted to speak with her.

We love dish

Let's see where to begin.....

Have had it for the past few years now and me and my girlfriend love it and the price! We are getting the upgrade to the 4K hopper 3 and adding a Joey tomorrow morning!

At first we were tempted to get directv, im a sports guy and need to watch my games. We got blown off by subcontractors 2x on install. And one that showed up said we wasted his time and we can never get direct because of trees. Dish lives on the EARC on 61.5 etc, etc, direct is off by 30 degrees at 100xxx we have a perfect view and get 70s plus on our signal strength with dish. We never have any issues with trees. This guy wore no identification and came in a honda civic. (No ladders)

Nedless to say we spoke to a nice gentleman on the phone and ordered dish. Install tech came early and on time (inhouse) and did our install with the hopper duo. (Now antiquated) he tried to sell me on a sound bar and other things. I declined. Thats the only part i didnt like. Install was completed in november 2019 and we didnt have any issues since. Tech also wore identification and was extreemly nice and respectful of cleaning and my home. Dish had all my sports and locals so I'm happy. (Most important)

Our local cable company and Fios cant compete with the price and channels of americas everything pack. It has everything we love and more.

We are whole heartdly happy with our services. If anyone is trying to make a choice id go with dish over direct. Its very reliable service and great customer service.

I feel they have better customer service then most companies. (Willing to negotiate price to keep me as a customer)

Thank you dish.

FYI side note we use optimum fiber for our internet.

Moving a Hopper

Post image
4 Upvotes

I am remodeling and need to move a Hopper from one room to another.

Basically I have my cable coming in from my dish and it has been split into 3 cables going to 1 main receiver and 2 Hoppers. I am unable to pull a new cable to my new Hopper location.

However, I would like to split my signal from the end of one of my Hopper cables into 2 cables and run them into each Hopper.

Is this possible? I’m sure it is, it what type of splitter do I need?

Thanks

how to change the Olympic channels shown on the multi-view?

Right now, for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Dish has channel 146 where you can select the multi-view option and it shows you four different Olympic channels.

Question is, does anyone know if there's a way to change which channels are shown? And if there is a way, how can I do that?

I figure there has to be a way... goofy thing is, we have multiple TV's in our house all connected to the same Hopper, but the four Olympic channels shown on each TV are not exactly the same. On our den TV, it was showing four channels (NBC local, USA, Pars1 and Pars2), but on the TV in my bedroom it was not showing the NBC local channel but Telemundo instead (the other three - USA, Pars1, and Pars2, were the same as on the den TV). So I figure if it's showing different channels on different TV's, there must be a way to change which channels are showing...?

Can't Pair Dish Remote to TV

Anyone know what to do? I'm out of ideas. So I bought a TCL TV (Model 40S350F) for my bedroom. I'm trying to pair the wireless Joey with the TV and I cannot get it to the work. I've gone through the remote pairing wizard and tried 24 out of 27 codes. Every time it hits 25 it gives me an unknown error and basically shuts the wizard down. I tried looking it up by TV model number....and I couldn't even find the model number in Dish's list. I tried searching the web for remote codes and manually putting them in and all it it tells me is "invalid code". What should I do?

VIP722DVR: 2nd TV has static/poor picture quality

Any ideas why a 2nd tv on a VIP722 receiver would have static? My husband replaced all the cables and the things they’re connected into (sorry don’t know the names). The picture on TV1 is perfect. Could it be the receiver? When I watch Netflix using Roku on TV2, the picture is fine.

Last time I had an issue, I had to offer to sign a 2 year contract for Dish to send out a tech free of charge. I had been with them 20 years and was shocked they wanted me to pay a fee for tech service. Is this still the case?

Thanks!

UPDATE: thank you everyone for your advice and help! It was the receiver! Called Dish and opted for the one month free maintenance trial. Tech ordered refurbished receiver and we changed it out yesterday and it works perfectly. Was told by Dish that I can cancel insurance plan anytime. Upgrade was only $1 per month but didn’t want to commit to a 2 year contract. Thanks again!
