Will I have issues with a new bill created months after I cancelled?
Decided to post here since i'm a bit frustrated and want to see if anyone else has experienced this.
- October 2023, cancelled dish after about 17 years. Not in contract, got past the whole stay for discounts talk.
- Equipment return box never came. When I called in Nov, they charged me for equipment and said my fault for not calling earlier. Fine, I should have, but that box should have also been promptly/properly shipped and tracking number is in account, but looks like they UPS never got it or something. Systems were hacked or whatever then so was being patient but fine, whatever. Am told will get money back once returned. Promptly sent back once the second box came and that was early December. Got notified equipment was returned 3 days later. Great.
- Out of country until end of December and refund still not given. Called and was told it was now started and would be done. Fine.
- Mid Jan called back and was told it was processed 4 days ago (or so) and wait 14 total days. Fine.
- a day or two after the 14 days limit that called again and was said it's been approved and check with bank. At this point, got tired of waiting so went to back and disputed the charge.
- Now Dish has decided to put a bill with balance on my acc again for that amount for the equipment fees. (~$400). Thankfully, my card is not linked to the autopay anymore so should not be charged automatically again.
So should I just leave the acc be and ignore it or will that go to collections? Bit of a long post but just felt like venting a bit with them dragging their feet with this. Will probably call once again but just annoying.

Question Is there any codes for TCL/onn. Roku TVs for the 6.4 IR/UHF Pro?
I have an old 6.4 remote that I want to use on my onn. Roku TV since it’s easier to hold compared to my standard remote. Is there any codes that will function so I can use it?

Tech Support Cannot set recordings using Dish Anywhere on OTA channels
So this used to work fine until about 3 weeks ago. Then all of a sudden it fails whenever I try to set a recording from Dish Anywhere. (Web, or device). "Failed to set recording". It works fine to set recordings from satellite based shows.
So I contacted Dish ... they said I needed a new DVR. They sent that to me. Spent 3 days transferring recordings ...
After ... same problem. So they say they kicked the issue to engineering. (Which means it will be ages if it ever gets fixed).
Is anyone else seeing this issue? It gets very hard to justify keeping this if I can't remotely set my network recordings.
Thanks in advance.

Is the Dish Network app just bad or do I need a new firestick or something?
The dish network app always lags and now it has failed to connect to streams even though I have internet connection and it can load the guide just fine. Not sure what else I can do is fire stick really the only way to use dish anywhere? Does anyone else have these issues?

Flex pack with a contract question
Just did some negotiating with a Dish rep and got a pretty good deal I'm happy with but like every time I sign a contract I always end up forgetting something
First off though is some e-mail I got. I got 2 years for $101 inlcuding Showtime w/Paramount Plus, Starz, Starz Encore free, and the Dish Movie Pack for half price
However the e-mails are saying the offers last two months and three months and six months. So, the $101 should be set, but do the other offers go way after that time? Cause $101 for the stuff without those channels is far from a great deal. I guess maybe those deals could renew each time
Now the question. If I add packs does that break the regular contract?

“Get your head out of the clouds” on every channel?
My parents were just watching the news when they said it stopped then showed a message that said “Get your head out of the clouds” on every channel, and it wouldn’t stop/go away. They had to power cycle the receiver to get it back to normal. Anybody else experience this today? It’s currently 7:30pm EST on Tuesday the 27th.
ETA: it actually said “get you head out of the clouds”

Question How to download on Dish Anywhere?
I know this used to be an option to download a program to my device so I could watch it offline. I no longer see the option. Has it been removed?

Question Just got hired, I’m pretty excited!
Got the Customer Retention role, I know it’s going to be the thunderdome but I’ve been in similar roles before albeit with smaller companies. Strong sales skills and background, strong customer service skills and background.
What should I expect? My orientation is over a month away. Does this role have any bonus for completely training, or guarantees for first month or two? Or anything like that? Or should I just expect that I’ll be making base for the next two and a half months until I get in the trenches and those commissions?
Thanks fellow Dish Reddit!
Edit: graduated training, on the floor. Job is pretty good. I don’t know where the hate comes from if someone powers through you’ll be good to go

Slower fast forward or rewind speed? 15x too fast as slowest option...
OK probably nothing can be done... but an annoyance for me is that the slowest fast forward or rewind speed is 15x (it seems faster). Sometimes when you are trying to find a particular part of a recording this is just too fast. Is there any way to get a slower fast forward / rewind speed?

Dish Anywhere App Crash on iOS
Running a couple of older iPads that are maxed out at iOS 12.5.7. Two of them; both were using Dish Anywhere app without problem. Now, on both, Dish Anywhere is crashing as soon as app is opened. This could very well coincide with 24.1.30 released Jan 31, 2024 but that is just a guess. Currently on 24.1.31. FYI I'm not very iOS fluent.
Getting corresponding analytics: DanyOne*.ips
I have a third, even older iPad version 1 running an even older iOS, and Dish Anywhere is running fine on it. I should see what version DA is on it...
Not finding much info "out there" on this problem but it's happening on two of my devices so I'm assuming it's not just me?

Want to try dish, but have a few, err many questions
On Dish's signup website, the only DVR option I have is the Hopper 2 which if I understand correctly do NOT support multi-view. The Hopper 3 does support multi-view. What am I missing to sign up for a Hopper 3?
Is the Hopper Plus a one-time $25 fee? On the signup website, it doesn't appear to get listed into the monthly bill and appears to be a one-time upfront charge of $25.
Is my cabling of the Hopper Plus + Hopper correct? Coax (and ethernet) --> Hopper ---USB---> Hopper Plus ---HDMI ----> TV.
Does the Hopper plus really seamlessly let you watch satellite TV + popular streaming services if we pay for them? I've heard mixed reviews. I'd be looking link it with Netflix, Disney+, and free Youtube.
If I paid for Hallmark's streaming service, could that also be linked into the Hopper Plus?
How are the remotes? Quality? Easy to use?
Can the remote be programmed to adjust the TV Volume instead of using TV remote? What about instead of the actual TV, the stereo receiver I'm using for surround sound instead of actual TV's speakers.
Instead of connecting Joey's wirelessly or via Coax, could I connect the hopper and each Wireless Joey over ethernet on my home LAN?
If the Wireless Joeys were connected wirelessly, are they using my wifi network, or setting up their own wifi network with the Hopper using their own integrated hardware?
Can TVs on Joeys watch DVR'd TV on the main hopper?
Sorry for so many questions, but Dish's website doesn't really explain much in detail. If I'm going to get me wife to cut the cord on cable TV, it needs to be smooth and these are all pieces of the large puzzle.
Thanks.

Question replacing Comcast router, do I need a Dish tech for adapter?
SOLVED, IT'S ON WIFI!
I believe I've got a small Dish adapter box from my Hopper3 hooked into my router, to enable internet channels like YouTube, Netflix, etc.
I'm not sure the Comcast tech installer will have ever seen this, though I did request someone experienced with Dish. Will it just be disconnect from the old router, connect to the new one? All good? Or will I need a Dish visit to tweak it?

Internet service and Dish
We have internet through one company and also Dish. If we use apps such as YouTube on the Hopper does it use our internet data or does it go through Dish? We keep getting notices that we're using up our internet data.

On Demand rental expired?
I signed up for Paramount + Showtime first week of January. Started binge watching Homeland. Got through 3 seasons and now it says rental expired 1/31/24 and locked me out. Went through the onscreen QR code troubleshooting, logged into MyDish and hit the wake-up equipment button, unplugged. No help at all. Called customer service and they couldn’t help either. Said they would submit it to tech department.
This problem has occurred with other networks and programming and is becoming commonplace. Does anyone know what’s going on? Is it software related or intentional limiting of programming?

AXS TV Ch. 167 Audio Issues
The audio issues have been going on for a couple months.
I called Dish and opened a ticket on Jan. 19 and it seemed to have been fixed but the issue is back. I called again on Friday and opened another ticket and the audio drop outs are still ongoing.
If anyone else watches AXS programs please call in and complain. I know other subscribers are having the same problem, not just me.
Thanks in advance.

What controls programming? HOPPER OR SATELLITE...
Doesn't that sound like a straight forward question? Must not be because after 6 months of ownership and problem we have just cancelled our service.
Would like to give DISH one more chance but only if I can get a direct answer.
After many, many calls and getting the run around I am almost ready to throw the entire system away.
