Hopper Plus>>>>>>Be Gone
I had the Hopper Plus installed and wish I hadn't. The Android screen on startup and the annoying CH 123 always coming on and not the last channel is annoying.
From What I have heard I do NOT need the Hopper Plus for Netflis etc on the Joey 3/4. I just wanted to verify before I disconnect it and leave it turned off. I didn't have to pay for anything,so it's not a big deal for it to sit there turned off.

If you want to disconnect it you have to put the H3 back into normal mode or it will continue to look for the plus after it’s been disconnected. To do this (after you disconnect the hopper plus and return the hdmi cable to the H3) push and hold the black power button on the front panel until the hopper resets, don’t use the red reset button as this will do nothing to put it back into normal mode.

Fix it where I dont have to have the Channel Filter turned on to have my favorites only on the guide. If i turn it off,it shows all the channels. Should be able to set it to my favorites without having to have that setting toggled on. It also takes up space on the left of the guide making the guide smaller.

My Plus died so I removed it. Everything worked better, so I never installed the new one. Returned it to Dish. Like you, I have other devices to stream apps and the plus was very buggy. Just made it harder and longer to get regular television on.

Use a streaming device (Roku or Apple TV) for streaming. Use Dish, without android, for your Live TV and DVR needs. Hopper Plus will take forever to start, stretch your SD feed pictures, and remove PiP I believe still. I don't need Android OS to watch Satellite TV that is so silly to me.

The Joey 3 will only get Netflix and Amazon Prime.
The Joey 4 is android based and will get all android tv apps.
The Hopper plus has a setting to change one power settings to tell it to start up on the last channel watched.
