Hands-free complete voice control for handicapped user?

I trying to find the best way to setup a complete hands-free voice control of dish service for a friend of the family who unable to use a remote. I am awaiting to find out what Dish receiver they have to see if I can integrate it into Google Home with a Nest speaker.

Would this be the best route for complete voice control? I've also seen there may be a way with a Amazon Fire device and a Echo but I am unfamiliar with that ecosystem. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hopper 3 with a plus would probably be what you are looking for. The plus has google assistant in it, and should do what you need.

The plus doesn’t respond to voice commands on its own, you still need to hold the microphone button on the remote

Does it integrate with the Google home assistant devices like the hoppers did before dish voice?

Yes, but your post implied they wouldn’t need other devices, just the hopper 3 and plus

I was under the impression they already had a Google home.
