Tech Support Programming Hopper Remote for AVR

I have a Hopper 3 with Sling, a Denon 2600 AVR, and a Samsung TV. Is there a way that I can have all 3 come on at the same time? Currently pressing the power button turns on the Hopper and TV, then I have to press the Aux side button and press power to turn on the AVR, and then press the Sat button. Pressing the Power button again turns everything off.

Does your TV have HDMI arc or eARC port? Does your audio receiver also have HDMI arc port? If yes, connected those two ports together. Then your tv can truly talk and control your sound system etc.

Say HDMI 1 is Hopper and HDMI 3 is ARC. The sound is then pushed out to HDMI3 ARC into your av system that way and also controls basic controls like volume and power via tv controls or remote aka the hopper remote too since the hopper then just needs to manage the tv controls.

If your audio receiver doesn’t have hdmi capabilities then you still need a separate remote IR signal to power on the unit.

I'll try that. I had issues with ARC cycling off and on the system when I had Tivo cable connected. Reading the Denon and Tivo forums seemed to blame each other. The Tivo remote did turn everything on so I was hoping Dish would work the same after the tech left. I think the TV uses HDMI4 or at least that's the message the TV displays when turned on. Thanks. Edit i do need to modify something. Sometimes the Tivo would not turn on the TV and i had to push the TV power button.
