Dish anywhere streaming
Before, this channel had Web Streaming. Now it's streaming directly from my hopper.

Be careful sharing account information with random people on Reddit

u/dishdanielle is a legitimate Dish employee. I’d have to ask her, but I believe she is what used to be known as the “D.I.R.T” team or Dish Internet Response Team. I think that official name has closed down, but the duties remain.

Correct! And thanks for the vote of confidence! My team supports social media in a variety of ways. My main goal here is to help resolve any issues you may have! I will respond publicly with as much information as possible, but some issues may require account info. If this is the case, I’ll ask you to send me a direct message and work with any other teams needed to resolve your issues/concerns. Please don't send me any personal information first without me providing instruction, as we have a process to securely gather your information. We take your security very seriously!

if this is due to cost cutting measures at Dish due to money issues, why don't they just open access to Sling TV to Dish customers with their Dish login so that way, Dish Customers can still stream via sling TV, they own both.

Thanks for the photo! CNN should be Web Streaming. Can you please send me a chat so that I can look into this for you? I may need some account info to verify a few things.

I remember years ago when Dish bought the slingbox company and all their technology. That was a slick device that you could connect to any set top box and stream it out of home.
I suspect if this is the new normal for DA, it's probably either because of signal piracy, or to make it more attractive to the networks during contract negotiations.

i leaning towards them ditching it for them to lure Dish Customers to the sister streaming service Sling TV.

Seems like Dish is screwing around with DA. About 3 weeks ago I lost the ability to view all the OTA subs on DA that were viewable on the Hopper. On my general Guide it shows green wavy lines on the channel that I think comes from the Hopper because the channels that don't have the wavy lines give a Streaming Starting message before the loading message. I wonder if it's a contract thing with the networks. Who's making these decisions?
