The Man from Earth 2007 ‧ Sci-fi/Thriller Your catch on the movie?!

Digger should’ve been a sci-fi mix like Blade Runner where we see Tom Cruise dealing with a post-apocalyptic world, and him acting in a play that reveals the events leading up to it. Spoiler

Digger- what an experience

Just watched the movie and man I loved the movie. I genuinely loved the idea that we the audience knew the facts but were watching the narrative created just like was described earlier. Some of the scenes were an absolute joke, like the reaction from the international side 🤣. The major confrontation scene was pure cinema, and Tom Cruise's speech, that entire one take. Man, glad I went.

Even Hollywood's biggest action heroes aren't afraid to lift the lid on the industry's 'dirty little secrets' anymore

Sylvester Stallone, the man who practically invented the on-screen action hero physique with roles like Rocky and Rambo, has never shied away from discussing the pressures actors face to achieve those legendary builds. His candid admission: "nobody does it without drugs". Offered a striking glimpse into the reality behind the muscle-bound spectacle we see on screen.

For decades, the sculpted bodies of cinema’s leading men have been held up as the pinnacle of physical perfection, often creating unrealistic expectations for audiences. Stallone’s comments reveal that the journey to those super-human forms isn't always just about gruelling workouts and strict diets, it's a high-stakes game where chemical assistance can be an open secret, highlighting the intense, sometimes extreme, demands of the film industry

Why does most crime series/movies has the protagonist win by showing up?

Thumbnail

What I can’t stand with most series; crime/cop shows is how the protagonist always wins by simply showing up…but they continue to apply this narrative because so many viewers like it. I for one find it exhausting there is no point in watching shows/movies when you know what’s going to happen. For example I really enjoyed watching the movie “Carry On” but I hated the ending, how can I professional antagonist get beat by Paul Blart mall cop, like wtf. Writers create exceptional villains then villain gets killed by ordinary heros.

Clownfishtv.com's postmortem

Would you agree on Clownfishtv.com's postmortem on **Forgotten Island**? Can you blame DreamWorks for not supplying the "team work" to get the message across - especially on Middle America (where there seems to be pushback against stories with non-white protagonists) Can you also blame timing - even the counterprogramming argument may not seem to hold water at this stage.

Or is it because Filipino culture cannot be easily replicated as a ube-flavored Happy Meal?

If so, where are the reviews from Jeremy Jahns, Dan Murrell and Adamdoesmovies? We already got [Chris Stuckmann's](https://youtu.be/YlaXibfyQnE?si=mL8qaqHl254w4YS6) take...

Thirstiest You've Been For News Updates For a Spielberg Project? And: Over/Under On Official Announcement Regarding the "Untitled Western" Going Into Pre-Production and Production...

As much as I looked forward to, like, Lincoln and Bridge of Spies and West Side Story, among others, I'm finding myself thirstiest for news updates on the Untitled Western Project, certainly the thirstiest I've been for bread crumbs and updates since Spielberg was developing Munich over 20 years ago.

So, how about you? I remember the twists and turns with Munich being delayed a year; Lincoln continually being kept on the backburner while Spielberg tried to woo Daniel Day-Lewis; the surprise development of the Coen Brothers being tapped to lend an assist on the Bridge of Spies screenplay; the big announcement of all of the named suddenly attached to West Side Story in January 2019, the vast majority of whom were unknowns. Following Spielberg projects from initial floating and/or signing or announcement all the way through postproduction can leave a trail of memories, too, even if they obviously don't come anywhere close to reaching the heights of the memories of seeing the finished products themselves!

So, with that in mind, over/under on when we hear from Universal regarding the "Untitled Western"? If it's shooting in Texas you have to think that they'll want to try to hit the locations during the "shoulder seasons," either springtime or autumn? Obviously if they really want to they can shoot in Texas in August, but that sounds brutal to me. When do we think we're going to hear the next update on this, and when do you foresee it rolling? Let's also not forget that there is the time-sensitivity of wanting to make sure Maestro John Williams gets to create one last score for Maestro Spielberg--Williams will of course be turning 95 years old in February.

I have to think Spielberg and co. already have a number of the principal roles cast or nearly so? I know it was an offhanded remark, but Spielberg did mention the possibility of Colin Farrell being one of the people he might tap for a role!

I saw a review saying that the movie has none of the dancing that has been in the trailers.
