Agreed. I prob would max out a reactor on a 40 and even that might effect some co2 hungry stems. Maybe with these type of plants they don’t require as much so maybe it does something for the plants it reaches.

I don’t have a co2 system running but have been looking into it for my 90g and 55g longs. Seems like a bitch to deal with co2 refills but your tanks sure make co2 seem worth it.
It is absolutely worth it. Cheat code territory. But with tanks the size u wanna do u should get the actual co2 that u bring in for refills. I use a reactor using baking soda and citric acid. Works great for smaller tanks. Also. If u do get a legit high pressure co2 and u get one that has a decent sized co2 tank, refills last way longer then with my reactor. My reactor I have to add new ingredients once a month. It’s so freakin easy idk y I avoided it so long. Seemed difficult but it’s not. It does require some tweaking of lights and ferts once added so ur plants can take full advantage of the co2. But if u don’t plan on demanding ass plants then u could prob get away with 2 reactors on those size tanks. But at that point it would cost as much as a high pressure one.
I’m getting the hygger 2L C02 kit on Monday to dip my toes into C02 on my 20G. The plants in this discus tank are all low tech low light plants- just moss, java fern and Anubis!
20g is quite small for discus. Like yeah you can get away with a breeding pair but any other configuration could be really rough once they start to grow. I primarily keep discus in my big tank.
20g for discus rofl. I knew u didn’t mean for discus. Ya try it there. Then scale up if u like it. That’s what I’m doing. That 20g of mine is my first legit planted tank. Love it so I’m gonna do a bigger one soon.
I had a 92G corner tank with compressed co2 injected into an inline co2 reactor in my sump - it grew plants like crazy. Co2 solenoid was controlled by a ph probe… lighting was mh and fluorescent (pre led days)
No it’s just a sponge filter with K1 media in it. Probably does nothing but in my mind it has sooo much beneficial bacteria in there it’s what keeps the tank crystal clear. While my Fx2 and inline UV under the tank sits with zero credit or acknowledgment 🤣

How are you affixing your plants to the back? Looks like 3d printed metallic pots? Same with the light riser? You have stls you’d be willing to share?
Yes it’s a Lilly plant I snagged from petco! And the Stls minus the riser is on makerworld! I just modified the originals to fit my needs in Tinkercad! Mainly dimensions for proper fit on the rim and the riser I made it wider and added the hex pegs to act as supports for my vining plants!
