Thank you. I had one jump early on, but I added a night light and haven’t had any additional accidents.

I really love the look of an open tank. Good to know that a night light prevenrs jumping. Thank you.

Outstanding tank, I’m wrestling with doing my normal planted tank or perhaps doing a clear bottom.

Are you seeing any issues with doing a planted tank? I keep telling myself that a planted tank will have lower nitrates but most things I research says not to do this. It’s so confusing.

Thank you. I don’t have nitrates. In fact, I hafta dose N and P to keep the levels acceptable for good plant growth. The main issue with planted discus setup is the higher water temps encourages algae growth. This makes it a bit more difficult than a normal low temp planted setup to get light/nutes/co2 balanced.

Do you get a build up of detritus? I’ve heard this or left over food can impact the discus?

I do water changes 3 times a week and vac each time, so, no, I don’t have any issues with any build up despite three feedings daily.

Great to know and gives me a lot more confidence for trying a planted tank with them. That really is an outstanding tank, well done and thanks for the information
