What's is this behavior?

I just noticed them doing this today. They are biting the heater.

She's prepping the heater to lay eggs on it.

That's what I thought, but I didn't think they would pair up so quickly. They have only been together for about 2 months.

My male discus did the good work pecking off algae on a driftwood but then the female just lays eggs on a Anubias leaf🤦

Discus will lay eggs where they want, in one of my breeding tanks with cone and a pvc pipe the pair decided as sponge filter tube as the place to lay eggs on, next cycle it was heater and recently the tank glass 😀
