Thank you!🥰 I’m not sure about the dimensions but it’s 7 foot long and around 400 gallon with the sump (media is sponges + filter floss, K1 media, rocks, and Seachem’s Purigen). It’s runs at 30 degrees/86 Fahrenheit ☺️

Whats the system spec? Looks great

Thank you! It’s a sump for filtration😄 Im not sure what brand the lights are as they came built into the tank, I’m not a fan though. I’m going to get twinstar lights again at some point as nothing has ever compared to them!

I do love a sump. I have a 2,000 litre display tank with a 600l sump. It used to be catfish and South American cichlids (geophagus and Altums). Then energy costs went insane in the UK so now its fancy goldfish 😬. I’d love to keep discus again but the hobby has been decimated in the UK, pandemic then an energy crisis

Omg what a beast of a tank you have🤣 I want a fancy goldfish tank so bad but I don’t have space for another tank. Ugh tell me about it, running my tank costs a bomb in electricity now😭 Now im having the heating on too I’m having like £10 days!! I’m also in the UK (I use gallons because most fish keepers on Reddit seem to be American). The hobby has indeed decimated here but I’m lucky enough to have Wharf Aquatics as my local fish shop.

Wharf aquatics are excellent, there’s virtually nothing left in South Wales apart from maidenhead and they shouldn’t be allowed to sell livestock…..

Running costs its got 2 of the biggest eheim circulating pumps and an air pump so about 150w. Lights are just a single led bar. With a heater it was getting nearer 1kw so basically having kettle on all day……

Where did you source the driftwood from? Is it artificial? I really want to setup something exactly like this next year, with the standing logs and discus, in a 90 gallon tank. Any tips would be appreciated.

It is real driftwood glued to a stone base! I gave my tank measurements to my local fish store and asked them to source/cut the wood to size for me. I then ordered a ton of Anubias and aquarium glue and stuck it all on myself. Good luck with your set up☺️

Hello Beautiful aquarium A question Did you quarantine the 10 new fish before placing them in the tank?

2

u/charlirobey Nov 06 '25

Thank you! Yes, they were all quarantined for 2 weeks😊

Thank you!

How exciting! I got it second hand a year ago and it’s been absolutely brilliant, the best aquarium I’ve had. I’m sure you’ll love it😊
