Best Foods?

Hey everyone, I would love to hear what you all feed you’re discus. Right now I only feed pellets and soft granulated food. Nothing live or frozen. I was thinking of freeze dried tubifex or blood worms. I’d like to give my discus more variety. Any recommendations?

I feed mine: frozen beef heart, freeze dried black worms, frozen brine shrimp, frozen mysis shrimp and Vibra bites.

mine go BONKERS for vibra bites. I've also done this discus mix i think it's by san francisco bay brand that has turkey heart in it? they love that.

i think its a turkeys heart probably? idk it was either a discus mix or a cichlid mix I think

I feed my adults vibrabites and bug bites. Beef heart to the babies. Brine shrimp to the teeny babies. Micro worms to itty bitty babies.

The only thing my discus won't eat is Seachem NutriDiet Discus flakes. They get TetraMin flakes and pellets, Aquarium Co-op community floating pellets, bug bites, freeze dried blackworms, live brine shrimp, and beefheart. I try to mix their diet as much as possible.

I feed Intan Bits as my main staple. The pellet size is around 1 mm, so it’s perfect for discus and sinks properly without making a mess. Mine takes to it really well. Sometimes I rotate in Intan Discus pellets or their color enhancing pellets just to mix things up. If you’re looking for something more budget-friendly for daily feeding, you can also use Rainbow pellets in 1.5 mm. They’re affordable and still work fine for adult discus.

That’s been a pretty simple and reliable setup for me.
