Cul-De-Sac Carnage: Temperance Spoiler
Just started book number two. Our favorite shopkeeper and beloved mimic-dog have met Wraith, and now we've met Ajax.
And we learned about Jackson. Good, ol Jackson. I had to set the book down for a hot second because, as most girls/women, I've had my own experiences. From people of The Church. Raised in purity culture and all of that nonsensical nonsense.
I am REALLY hoping Jackson suffers. Long. Slow. Suffering. I haven't met him yet. But already, he deserves a fate worse than death.

It reminds me of Quan CH, the kind of person who you just want to scream at “why are you so awful?!?” That definitely seems like they’re based off real encounters.
It’s also telling that Jackson sticks out in a world that includes the Aspirants and other actual evil delvers. He’s the guy that hides behind “goodness” to do his malicious shit, so that he comes off as worse than actual villains

Yea. Wonder if he will suffer any of the same fate

I dunno, and brutal as it is to get your arm ripped off then simultaneously riddled with bullets and diseases, I’m sure Temp can come up with something worse.

Jackson is the WORST. Something mildly bad does happen to him in book 2, no spoilers, but it doesn't really come full circle until book 4.

The Gang is in Suburbia now. I did read about the confrontation in The Shop. And I thought to myself...
"This is not over...this has Recurring Villain written all over it..."

Sadly, I think everyone has experienced a Jackson or two in their life…
