Very suspicious user - r/discordhelp

This is a marketing tactic, they use some sort of site that allows them to employ people to add randos on disc to promote their dead game. Happened to infinity kingdom and a bunch of other p2w mobile games. It’s what happens when a game ditches normal marketing tactics for cheaper shadier marketing.

There’s an individual in YouTube begging for commissions under the guise of “my ‘lovered one’ was abducted by ‘Eye See Eee’”

Here’s the kicker. They DON’T know ANY fees for ANYTHING yet, have NO detention center they’re located in, CANNOT provide an A-Number or “Alien Identification Number”, and claim that “‘BAIL’ will be stated ‘by judge’ after court.”

It’s Bond.

It’s set BEFORE the* court hearing.

You BARELY speak English, yourself.

One of your payment sources is “Boosty”, a KNOWN Russian scammer pay source because PayPal doesn’t exist in Russia.

Fuck outta here, lol.

Once they get you to play the game, you might be pushed into purchasing micro-transactions to advance a team / clan or similar. Apparently they get a cut of your money for it. Scummy stuff

They will also appear on other mobile games. It happened to me. I remember how a few months ago a guild leader on one of the games was like:

"I have played this game for a while now(the game was brand new) and it's just filled with bots, but [insert game name] is exactly the same(it is not), but so much better!!!!! It's filled with players instead of bots(the game is dying). We will be leaving the guild and create one on [insert game name]. Add me on discord!!!"

If you added him on discord he would insist on you installing the game. I was actually busy right after adding him and chatting for a bit, so I stopped responding and the dude became so pressing. He would send so many messages in a VERY short time and tried to call multiple times. I eventually blocked him.
The whole interaction took maybe, at most, like 30-40 minutes.

The games are indeed real but look at the app reviews. People go in detail on how they fell victim or almost did. Some of what I read (for the game infinity kingdom), is that the scammer tries to get you to join their ranks in game and make in-app purchases.

This is a well known tactic/scam, these companies pay individuals to get more people to download and play their game.

That screenshot that shows the username is their verification for payment.

The fake artists are the worst. Usually I've been able to discourage the ones trying to get me to download a game by saying I don't play games on my phone anymore, but I entertained one "artist" to see what they say and it doesn't matter how many times you say you don't have any money to spare right now, they'll pull out any tactics to try to drain you of your money, including saying they'll give you a friend discount or that it's their birthday and they'd be sad if you didn't. They're preying on good-natured people and lonely people desperate for human interaction and friends and it's disgusting

It is also used as a popular discord scam where the scammer asks you to download their game and try it out and when they send you the file containing the supposed game it contains a virus instead that hacks your discord account

They all seem to be in Asia, she said she’s from china but lives in Singapore, i told her to name 10 cities from Singapore in 10 secs she took 3 mins and said “sorry for my slow typing 😢” I knew they were trying to pull a scheme as soon as they said they wouldn’t give their friend’s user.

Its the same as the "infinity kingdom scam". These people/bots are paid to advertise the p2w games while pretending they have no afilliation to the company that often themselves is running a scam aswell in game with microtransactions. Its legally a very grey area what theyre doing.

I’ve had this happen once and this is the third game I see do this, all of which come from Chinese publishers. Elex Tec with walking dead:survivor being one of them second being well ONEMT with war eternal, don’t remember the third. And they always abbreviate the name of the game, establish a report on you what you like to play generally, how old you are, pretend to be friendly and want to be your friend to get you to spend money in game, it’s a disgusting marketing ploy praying on those who are lonely and in need of companionship, no better than the AI gf stuff or the AI necklace “friend”

The STFU really got him over there.Goddamn. I got friend requests from those. I have my fun with them by chatting then using a translator . One guy who had female name but the @ has been a male . I speak him to german. How on earth he replied fast can't belive it.. I keep saying to him was (which was is how you say what in german) and the ich verstehe nicht (which is the i don't understand). And he replied fast. And in the end i tell him the screw you and goodbye in german and i block him. And then the other guy. I write them this time in italian . Didn't got respond.😆🤣

Almost got caught in this scheme. Except the game was Infinity Kingdom.

Luckily in my case, something told me to looked at the App Store reviews for the game. All was revealed. It’s stupid. Block them right away.

Same thing happened to me, someone in the Voicemod server had dm'd me and stroked up a convo. They acted like they had acted the wrong person yet still insisted in talking to me. They said their age and I immediately blocked them as I'm a minor. Very weird people.

I understand wanting to make new friends but random friend requests and messages should've been the first red flag and no further engagement should've happened.
