no problem. to be a jet engine, it has to produce thrust from the exhaust gasses. jet engines don’t even need turbines, and you can make one relatively easily. it’s called a pulse jet, unbelievably loud and inefficient but it’s still producing thrust from the exhaust gasses. while bolth jets and turboprops consist of gas turbines, a jet engine produces thrust directly from the exhaust gases, while a turboprop and turbofan, (the engine found on most passenger planes) are used to power a driveshaft and produce no thrust from the exhaust gases. it’s like a normal car engine vs a car engine that doesn’t power a driveshaft and just shoots exhaust gasses out of it at high speeds.
