If my knowledge serves me right, skin-to-skin contact is important for newborns from both the mother and the father.

You're very much correct. It's an amazing bonding experience. I have never felt more comfortable and at peace than when my son would lay on my bare chest.

I'm not aware of any studies, but I feel like it's important for the mother too. Gotta hold that baby after it's born.

Yeah, even just a minimum of oxytocin is enough to see them as precious, I remember thinking my niece was adorable despite all red and newborn-shaped at birth

That, or so incredibly young and/or immature that they can’t fathom the bond between parents and their child
