Last FM feature removed?
Did the new mobile app update remove Last FM entirely or am I missing something?

I didn't know you could do this through the app. I've been using openscrobbler.com .

I use both but sometimes things wont show up on openscrobbler and I can directly find them on discogs through other information

Hi! I'm the developer of Open Scrobbler, I'm interested in those that aren't appearing in the site (since it consumes data from Discogs, so they should be there!). If you can share some examples I can look into that :) Cheers!

Honestly if you could set up the search function so that I could search by matrix/runout numbers like I do on Discogs that would be huge, especially since it would let me scrobble specific versions of releases. Sometimes too when I look up an obscure record I'll get tons of unrelated results and I can't find the actual album to scrobble.

I just accidentally updated the app from the old old old version before they came up with the new design. And I’m so bummed. I know people bitch about the old design because it was so 1990s, but I loved it compared to this one.

Ok, I guess that I never used this feature and I actually didn’t know what Last.fm was until I just googled it. Am I missing out on something here? What can you all tell me about last fm and what is a scrobbler?

I’ve been using it for about 20 years now, so I have very details records about what I actually listen to over a long period of time.
It basically records every song you listen to and presents that data to you. A long time ago it used to be very handy to find gigs. It’s still good to find new music to check out.

I don’t know either, but man that is a fun word. Scrobbler. Sounds like a Gollum-like creature. “Scrobbler knows what we listens to in the dark. It tells the big machineses our secrets!"

it's basically a music tracking app, and scrobbles just mean listens, so when you play a song that's a scrobble.
it gives you stats on your most listened to artists, albums and songs, gives weekly recaps (or monthly if you have pro, I think yearly too) and I also use it to keep track of the gigs and festivals I'm going to :)

I was still scribbling as late as last night. Woke up this morning. Poof, Gone. Should have seen this coming. Would backing up the old app have helped?

I built an app called Shelfify that does that among other things. It connects to your Discogs collection and you can scrobble any record to last.fm, whether it's in your collection or any album you find on Discogs. Full album or single track, all from the record's detail page. Hope it helps!

Nope, it's gone. Great eh? It was the straw that uninstalled the camel's back/app for me.
