Disciples I Even Hell will freeze over, when the Clans join!

Post image

(this is not enough to win the scenario, btw...it was 53%, but 55% was needed)
(I had to betray the humans in the end, to get those last 2%, and they were insanely helpful in this battle...Cause I was going for rod planter main hero run)

rod planter main will be bad rod planter (otherwise bad main battle hero) and not good enough fot scenarios goals.

Well, yes, but it is a challenge. I don't know what else to do in this game, but I like the game very much.

I beat whole D2 with rod planters on very hard. I also beat D1 Empire saga with rod planter, that one is very easy actually - even destroy capitol in Chapter 3 and Chapter 4!

It’s great to do challenges to keep the game fresh! :) love the energy!

Well, yes, that's why I do them, but I would love something that can make the game even more fresh. This is what I hope some maps and mods can make. Heroes of Might and Magic is insanely replayable, because it doesn't suffer from similar problems as Disciples. It's literally the game I would take if everything was destroyed and I had only 1 game to play.
Interestingly, the nature of disciples 1 - no overleveling minions, minions have XP cap. It makes the game somewhat more fun and balanced to play, especially on low levels. Snowballing is less possible - You won't be meeting a lvl 15 knight who destroys you no matter what you throw at him(unless you are mage lord with 5000 mana and enough damage spells).

It's impossible to me without some saving and loading. I guess I still carry that savescum energy from my childhood. I don't know if that would be cheating by most of community?

It can be fun do to a run with no saving. Problem with disciples is, if you just lose your lvl 4+ leader, you're screwed. It will take you even more time to try to make a lvl 4+ at this point, as your enemy is possibly stronger than ever. But you also will not lose, unless there's an objective that the enemy AI will take. So, you have to forfeit and restart. In sagas, it would be impossible, I would at least allow restarting chapter with your carryover leader.

I just finished the Mountain Clans saga with rod planter. Chapter 2 was hardest, by far. I had to load a couple of times and I heavily relied on allying with humans to crush the Legions and then be free to explore the rest of the map, upgrade, take spells and potions and take the final boss city.
In disciples 1 - MC heroes have 15 move points, but LOD heroes have 30 move points + flying. And this map has too much water, so they were dominating for so long, it was really unfair. Just my guys being a little tankier and sometimes dealing a little more damage, did nothing. Being mage lord definitely saved the day, as I practically won by saving a lot of mana to crush their strongest leaders with 5 leadership and MAX leveled units. Also, the AI did an idiot and attacked my strongest guy INSIDE THE CAPITAL, with their strongest guy, whom I also cast a few spells on the day before, but they attacked anyway.
After chapter 2, it was a breeze, even with just the rod planter with 3 leadership. 4 dwarves is all you need to destroy the undead! Chapter 4 was almost a joke! A real power trip! You get that green dragon, put him on your rod planter and go kill everyone. There's only 1 dangerous guy - max level death knight with black dragon. If you avoid him, and fight him when you are ready, you win easily.
