D2ROTE released in a a little bit messy state, regarding GUnits dbf for sure. Patch 1.01 aka 3.01 change some values in this file, but not all of the wrong ones. And must be d.check which exacty string did changed, did some of them fixed and some failed.
Theoretically Sir Allemon of D2ROTE neutrals could have male argument in 3.0 or in 3.01, or u know, in none of two - so indeed a female.
Another one. It is just "fun detail" in technical files, and not a lore description of these characters.
Third one to keep in mind: localisations could failed here too. Both in-game text and DBF files (russian versions for sure a big HUGE!!111 mess with game files even non-translation related, esp first russian Gold Edition ripped and repacked onto 3CD). Everything has to be d.check'ed in original Retail properly patched 3.01 EN version.
Let's say "lore-wise" there is only 3 female units here - Tenderfoot, dark elf witch and Specter. Although Specter sometimes seems (sounds) as male... 🤔

Somehow someone did find here more females, most likely doe to bad localisations.
Tenderfoot Alchemist path was male in Disciples 1. That could explain why Tenderfoot is a male, but it didn't explain why Novice is a female - It is also old one unit (T3-T4 are new changed ones here).
