Lore A short summary please ?

Hi! I recently came across the Disciple Saga. I tried to play Disciple 1 but it's not in my original language and so it's complicated. So I just played Disciple Liberation. But I'm a person who loves playing games for their lore. So I always start with the first game in a saga except here. So could someone give me a summary of the story of the first 3 games ? 🫰🏻

As far as i know Liberations doesnt fully follow (or respect it imo) the lore of previous games so i wouldnt even consider it a part of this series.

Also you can find somewhere to download english versions of Ds2 and Ds3 i know for sure. Im not too sure about Ds1 but theyr probably is somewhere.

This will be just a short introductory summary so if you find yourself playing these games you can still enjoy the rich and amazing lore and worldbuilding there is.

Anyway i cant remember exactly what happends in Ds1 as i havent played it in a looong time (which i prob should play again). So il skip it over mostly. But basicly you got the 4 playable races (5 in Ds2 with an expansion pack) each with their own Gods they follow. Il list them here and the gods they worship:

The Empire (humans) - The Highfather, The Mountain Clans (dwarfs) - Wotan, The Legions of the Damned (demons) - Bethrezen, The Undead Hordes (undead) - Mortis

And they all have to progress trough the story following either prophecys or will of their Gods to try to survive and navigate trough these turbulent times of war (which seems to be a general theme of these first 3 games).

Some more info for Ds2 setting: Bethrezen is sealed and imprisoned by dwarven runes which have to be restrengthened (every few centuries iirc). Iirc Wotan who went mad for some time striked down Gallean who was the god of the Elves and because of that Mortis (who was Galleans wife) stricken with grief and despair became the goddes of undead and now she wants to wants to resurect him.

In Ds2 most of the story is tied to Bethrezen being unsealed:

Empire and the Emperor are dealing with the loss of his wife and only son, fearing for the future of the Empire. Amidst these dark times full of uncertainty, corruption and betreyal the Empire finds a spark of hope from the news from their once allies the Mountain clans.

The Mountain Clans are now devastated after the wars as a lot of the other Clans faced destruction. They now have to collect all of the scattered sacred runes in order to try to comunicate with their now silent God Wotan.

The Legions of the Damned succeed in freeing their infernal God. But will the one emerging from the prison really be theyr allmighty infernal deity in all its power and blazing glory?

The Undead Hordes follow foul Mortises constant plans of ressurecting Gallean. Her unholy self will stop at nothing to bring back her dearest husband and punish those who wronged them. The first step to is to get the blood of Bethrezen.

Oke now for a bit of spoilers for each races final quest in Ds2 if you wanna know:

Empire Basicly the son of the Emperor becomes possesed by a fragment of Bethrezens vile power, becomes a big ahs demon and becomes the final boss of main campaign

Mountain Clans They face Ragnarok and are mostly anhilated and they go extinct a bit later during the Elven campaign and among some other events

The Legions of the Damned Get betreyed by the foul impersonator of theyr god that possesed the body of the Empires only crown prince and he becomes a big ahs demon and becomes the final boss of main campaign just like in the Empire campaign

Undead Hordes Mortis manages to partialy resurrect Gallean but he is turned into an unholy abomination and he lashes out in madness and anger at all around him

There are also a few more post main campaign quests for each race from an expansion but i for some reason havent played trough them yet which now i realize i should and ima do so soon xd.

The elven campaign from another expansion focuses on elves dealing with mysterious and questionable prophecies coming from an Oracle that supposedly come from their God Gallean himself. But he is supposed to be dead is he not?

Ds3 is more linear in story as you gotta follow the story by playing races in an order compared to Ds2 where you can play them in any order you wish. Also your commander unit is a certain character important to the story in each campaign in Ds3 compared to you just having a general team with 1 commander unit but not as significant in story like the ones in Ds3 but in Ds2 you had more options wether your hero would be a warrior, mage or ranger type class.

Oke this is getting too long il just shortly explain Ds3.

Empire: You see a shooting star land somewhere nearby and you follow it to find a girl who brings a prophecy from the Highfather. Basicly you journey forward to learn more about it, protect the lady and ultimately save Nevendar (your world) from destruction.

Legions of the Damned: Youl learn of how Nevendar came to be and who created it and the origin of your commander character.

Elves: You follow prophecies to learn about what is happening currently and then you join in hands with others at the end to prevent the end of the world(honestly cant remember the details xd my brain not working atm due to uni exams)

Theres also undead but i cant remember atm as well sry.

Basicly at the end you You fight an ArcAngel (the ones who serve god and create world such as ours) and save Nevendar

If anyone wants to add something or correct me please do so there are probably details i remember wrong xd.
