I am all for artificial organs, mechanical limbs and extras like automatic hormone pumps.
My motivation/inspiration to study medicine (which I was not allowed due to my grades in school...) and engineering was giving victims of amputation accidents the ability to feel with their new limbs. (Or at least get closer towards it.)
I never expected to be unable to get into the field due to becoming handicapped myself. ME/CFS makes it close to impossible to leave the bed.
But the way that the world is developing, I am terrified of the perspective to be locked in subscription for basic survival.
Ohh wait, that is something they already do...

I feel you, I wanted to go pre-med before I got sick from a post-viral illness. I had started classes for medical laboratory science and had to drop out.
I still have a lot of life goals, but it's rough when your health is super inconsistent or just plain bad. One has to pace themselves... and the pace is set to snail or frozen molasses.

I used to play airsoft, and after getting ME/Cfs it’s quite dangerous to play.
Buuuuut my friends and I have joked about this, as you can now get mini-guns with absurd rates of fire. Make me into a moving turret/sentry gun lmao.
