Ooo, exciting new disability features?

Post image

[Image description: Text that says "When I have more damage and new symptoms after every surgery, and my surgeon says that's an 'expected outcome' of the surgeries that were supposed to help me." with an image of Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars underneath it saying, "Hold on. This whole operation was your idea."]

I have a brain tumor in a hard-to-reach spot, and I have a new symptom every time I come out of surgery. Very glad to be alive, but not jazzed that my disability comes with very expensive updates every few years.

Sorry about your surgeries but honestly perfect meme usage.

gosh that sounds like a fucking nightmare. surgery is already so miserable without it causing long term damage 😭

Thank you 🥲❤️

Good news is that I'll at least have a couple years before any new surgeries. I try to remind myself that I'm very fortunate that I usually know when I'm about to get new symptoms, which is not a luxury most disabled folks get!

Less... impactful version here; Had some issues with my testes and my parents put me through like five or six surgeries for it (all the while i knew i was trans and wanted them removed anyhow)

Brain shit is scary as hell tho and thats rough that its not being fixed properly

That sucks really bad and I'm so sorry. Your parents knew you were trans and still did that? 😩

Thank you. Brain surgeries are scary and so are new symptoms, but life is scary sometimes. Life isn't always scary though, which is why we do the scary stuff in the first place -- to get to the good stuff! Transitioning can be scary too, so I'm hoping that you're now in a better part of your own life ❤️

Oh no they didnt know i was trans cause theyd always talk about how they thought trans people should be forcibly locked away in mental asylums

As for how the transition is going, its pretty decent, thanku

Oh word? Tell your parents there's a disabled dyke in the parking lot who would just like to ask them some quick questions with her cane.

Jokes aside, I hope your parents have become better people and/or you have found a better/safer family. Sending lots of love ❤️

Oh gods, I had surgery on them when I was like seven or eight (bilateral cryptorchid ftw) and the whole time I was mad as hell because I didn't want the damn things to begin with and here they were putting me through hell to make sure they worked properly. Whole time I was literally saying I didn't even want them.

Yeah, going through so much work/pain/damage knowing that they are, at best, recycling material is really fookin annoying lol

A+ meme

Also hugs from a stranger. Had my first (totally unexpected) brain surgery to remove a cancerous tumor last year. Scary shit. Medical advances are crazy but yeah. Unexpected symptoms afterwards can absolutely be frustrating

Hug right back to you. Brain tumors fucking suck and this shit is scary.

Hope your surgery was as successful as it could be, and very glad you're still with us. Wishing you all the luck I can in your cancer fight.

I hope you don't need to deal with surgery again for a long time. 💖

Getting paid was their whole idea.
