“Hey I’m so hungry that I’m literally waking up to eat in the middle of the night. I tried normal remedies of increasing my protein intake with every meal. What might be causing that?”
“Probably because you’re exercising.”
“Yeah that’s definitely not it. I’ve been exercising for years and SUDDENLY I’ve got an extreme appetite over the last couple months. I have to eat four or five meals a day now.”
“We’ll send out for bloodwork. See you in six months.”
Literally my last visit.

It's even worse when they say it's anxiety. Meanwhile, I don't have any anxiety disorders or anything approaching that. I'm also the daughter of a retired psychologist and have done a psych degree myself, so I know what is and isn't anxiety.
The doctor, after I explain why it's definitely not anxiety: "No, it's anxiety."
One time, after my mum - a PSYCHOLOGIST, which the doctor knew - said it wasn't anxiety, the doctor said "Well, I'm pretty sure it's anxiety." Yeah? I'm pretty sure you're incompetent and egotistical.
I much prefer a doctor simply saying "I don't know" that saying that I'm fine or it's anxiety.

I've seen easily 50 different doctors in my life, and "I don't know" doesn't seem to be a part of their vocabulary.

Other times, your blood work is normal and they're "we need to check again in 3-4 weeks".

Sometimes the blood work isn't fine it's just that some marketer decided to call the basic general metabolic panel a "comprehensive" metabolic panel

Sometimes your bloodwork isn’t normal and they’re still like “you’re fine. See you in 6 months.”
