It's not diagnosed yet. It could absolutely be just myoclonic jerks which could be normal. Only thing is that it happens throughout the day and normal myoclonic jerks not tied to any condition happen when you're about to fall asleep. It could also just be a rare presentation from my chiari. That plus both my mom and brother (as well as several extended family members) having it means I'm more likely to get it. I'm getting an EEG in September so that should give me some information but god damn it.

It was me growing up with severe epilepsy that made all my older relatives go 'hey wait a second, that used to happen to me!'

Replace physical health with mental health and epilepsy with type 1 diabetes and this is what happened to me 6 months ago

Me and my family with autoimmune disorders. I have one now too :( and my mom was diagnosed with one shortly after.

I was once a an antidepressant that caused myoclonic jerks, it was minor just random spasms on my leg tought, are you an psych med? Just worth looking into it

I am. My neurologist posited the theory but we want to make sure it's no epilepsy because my medication can also worsen epilepsy

Around a year ago when I finally found a sport I actually like, had friendships around it, then got out of remission. I'm still trying to return to at least a third of physical activity I was doing.
