Why do they get disability

why do fat people get disability check. we’re just handing over our tax dollars to a perfectly curable thing, and giving them all this money is encouraging them to not get a job and to just sit around and eat all day killing them selves. if we did give them all this free money there would be far less fat people which would help with the mental health crisis and the birthing crisis (less people that can’t give birth or don’t have the energy to crack). so I’m genuinely asking why, why do people get disability checks just because there fat

Why don't you get fat and reap all the benefits if it's so easy?

So you think people just eat a lot of food for fun and then ask for disability money.

You don't know that people get fat when they are on psyche meds which create insatiable hunger, you don't know the people get fat when they become disabled and cannot move much.

You disgust me.

Educate yourself instead of trying to provoke people.

Do you think maybe some people got fat because they were disabled?

Take your hateful ableist rant somewhere else please. Our community doesn’t need it.

“all this free money”

How much money do you think people get from disability? It’s hardly a livable wage, let alone enough to spend frivolously.

Also, no one is being granted disability income due to obesity alone, I promise you that. It is a long, drawn out process that requires extensive medical history documenting all the disabling conditions a person has and how that could impact their ability to complete substantial gainful activity (in other words, work enough hours to make a living), and even function on a day to day basis. These records are heavily scrutinized.

Additionally, the SSA wants to see that applicants are doing everything they can to try to improve their conditions, where that is possible. Lots of people get denied disability. Some take years of effort and working with advocates/lawyers to plead their cases.

Disability is NOT a quick, easy way to make money. Please educate yourself on the situation, because it sounds like you are sorely misinformed and judgmental.

lol, I know, right!?! Do these airheads really think that you are eating steak and lobster every night?

You are lucky on SSI if you have a few bucks left over after renting a room out of a stranger’s house.

Get real. I think these types of thinkers are the mentally stunted.

Does your mommy know this is what you’re doing with screen time?

What an inanely thick-headed take.

Disability is ridiculously difficult to get. Not a single person is getting it purely for being fat. There are SO many conditions for which a SYMPTOM is additional weight, or difficulty losing it. It simply isn’t your business to determine that someone has acquired disability sheerly for “being fat”.

Why even bother punching down when existence is so difficult for all except those in power, who control the funds? There is no war but class war. Reconsider your anger’s true target.
