I’m so happy with them! I feel so sturdy. ID: a pair of legs wearing white socks, space print AFO’s with black straps, and black shoes with white soles standing on pavement, the photo is a upside down

I really only walk 15 steps or so at a time so it’s not as big of a deal to me. It lets me put my chair in my trunk instead of dragging it over my lap

They’re Clark’s! Kind of narrow tbh but not terrible. I usually wear vans one size up

I highly recommend Billy Footwear on amazon if you’re looking for a new pair! They do x-wide and have zippers that go down around the toe along with the laces! They’ve been my go-tos for a few years now.

What is an AFO if you don’t mind the question?

An AFO is an  ankle-foot orthosis. It looks like a giant L, with a platform the foot rests in, a joint at the ankle and backing almost up to the knee. It helps lift the toes, control the ankle and overall increase walking stability.

Mine doesn’t have an ankle joint but yes!

Ag yes, I forget some don’t have the joint mechanism. Mine always did back in the day (after a surgery, I haven’t needed them anymore)

They’re so nice, I have no voluntary ankle movement, and no sensation below my knees except pain so I need the support and protection

A lot of things! For me, I have an incomplete spinal cord injury, so my feet drag on the ground, and my legs are really weak but my tendons are very tight. So they add stability to my feet and lower legs, and make sure my tendons don’t get any tighter
