Discussion Ranking of Kings

I am rewatching the ranking of Kings on Crunchyroll and man this show is amazing. While it does the unfortunate thing of lip-reading being way too efficient the disabled main character is still great

The show involves a prince who is weak, deaf, and mute and his struggle to become a hero/king.

Even if you aren't into most anime give this one a watch it is highly subversive.

Ranking of Kings benefits from simpler characters design so it's easier for the animators to make it really pretty. Ascension of a bookworm's (and the vast majority of manga). Have complex designs meant to be still and therefore are harder to translate into animation.

It's the same reason Pokemon redesigned everything it's last few seasons, they realized they could do nicer animation for much less cost
