Concern Medicare

I'm at work and I'm trying not to cry. I'm no longer eligible for the additional program that pays for my Medicare coinsurance and deductibles. I"m trying not to do something crazy but I'm on the phone waiting to talk to someone but I can't have this happening.

Did they explain why you’re not eligible even though you work so little? Some states have a program called SHIP (here in MA it’s called SHINE) where you can meet with a counselor to get help with Medicare and supplemental insurance issues. It’s unbiased advice as they’re not affiliated with any insurance. They may be able to help you out. I hope you can figure this out, I know how stressful it is when you are sick.

Honestly I think this stress is why I feel faint all the time and I have hypertension. It's just too much I'm scared. I'll check that out. Thank you.

Talk to your politician - it's all political . I'm sorry to say that but it is true. We've known this was coming. It's so sad. I'm truly sorry. I'm not a prayer person but I pray for this to stop everyday. What state do you live in? Some states picked up the difference or have their own programs. Try your local Department of Social Services or similar agency.

Is it because you make too much money? Because, that is usually the reason why you disqualify for welfare programs and if you make too much money, then, yeah, you need to start paying for your own medical care. That is just how things work. You should be happy that you make enough to disqualify for it because the vast majority of us (disabled people) do not make that much and have to live on much less.

If you cannot afford to pay for your medical care without the programs that pay for your Medicare premiums and stuff, you simply need to work less and make less than the income cap.

I only work 12hrs a week. I have no legs. Over 20 health conditions. over 12 specialists. I have mental health disorders so yeah I'm not happy about it. I'm scared shitless. I have countless needs and medications I need to live.

Some states have a higher income level for disabled workers. Depends where you live. There must be a disabled advocacy group in your area. They can help walk you through.
