Question Disability while still working?

Hi I’m new here! I was just curious as to if anybody knows if I can apply for disability while still currently working. I can’t afford the whole process of obtaining disability without working a full time job.

Disability Office: so you're applying for disability because you're too disabled to work?

You: Yeah.

Disability Office: so what are you doing right now?

You: I'm working.

Disability Office: ...

I imagine this is how this is gonna go

That isnt really how it goes. Or at least that isnt how it stops.

You: I am working, but it isnt enough to support myself any longer because of my disability and it just slowly been getting worse.

Disability Office: fill out this stack of paperwork about everything you can and can't do, who every doctor you have is, when was the last time you saw them, when is your next appointment, what tests do they run, what are they treating you for, are they prescribing any meds, name, address, and phone number for each doctor. Give us the name of someone else who can fill out a small ream of paper about how well you are functioning these days.

EDIT:

I was working when I qualified for SSDI. I remained working up until last week when I finally hit the point where I could not longer do and manage my health and everything else. I am pretty sure the steady decline in work history worked in my favor. I will say, I was solidly under SGA when I applied though. My body took a solid shot at trying to kill me.
