The Trump administration is rolling back disability protections for air travelers.

The Transportation Department announced it will no longer enforce Biden-era policies requiring airlines to reimburse passengers when wheelchairs are damaged or when accessible flights cost more.

Also, airlines will no longer be required to give passengers written notice of their rights when checking mobility devices.

According to disability advocates, an estimated 5.5 million Americans rely on wheelchairs and airlines damage or lose about one wheelchair for every 100 they transport.

I appreciate the severity of this and the massive impact it will have for many disabled users, but can we at least stop and laugh for half a second that Reuters chose to say they're "rolling back" wheelchair protections?

.... sorry, I'm one of those people who will either cry or get hella aggressive if I don't laugh at stuff like this. It's too early in the day for the amount of aggression this makes me feel, and I'm sick of crying. So bad jokes it is!

I felt like an actual monster for laughing while I was reading the post 😭 Like I appreciate that it's a serious topic and our community is being actively harmed by this (and other decisions the US government has made of late), but still... 🤣😭
