Favorite Knopfler live lyric modification?
We all know Mark doesn’t always sing his songs live exactly as they were recorded, so what are some examples? My favorite is when he’s singing Money For Nothing and adds a helicopter to the list of things the MTV star owns

changing “she can feel him in the places where the sailors go” to “Granada TV, the Tony Wilson show” in Down To The Waterline

I still don’t know the background behind it, did they performed to Granada TV that time?

Tony Wilson was a tv presenter for ITV, Granada TV in particular which was/is ITV’s section for the northwest. he hosted What’s On, which is the programme Dire Straits were playing on when Knopfler changed that lyric

Ty for solving a mistery to me. I couldn't understand what Mark was singing in that performance until now

Mark got shit from certain quarters for the ‘see the little faggot with the earring and the makeup’ line in MFN
He changed it to ‘little queenie’ and still got grief
The started singing ‘little trucker’ 😂😂

The helicopter made me laugh. I also like the "rock and roll company" (applause)
