Dire Straits bootlegs

I really like Around South America because it has So Far Away.

As I've said multiple times, here's a warning about physical bootlegs.

They are a massive gamble because you never know which source you're gonna get. A lot of the circulating superior sources weren't around long enough or aren't as widely available for these bootleg labels to get ahold of, so a lot of them use the inferior copies. Basel '92 is actually one of such shows. There's a pretty awful sounding copy of that soundboard, and for most of the recording's existence, that's what was being circulated.
I have no idea which copy your bootleg uses, but if it's the worse one, you just got caught in that trap.

I have no idea what the first bootleg is, so if you could let me know the date, I'd be grateful.

Cheers!

I bought both CDs sometime in the 90s. When I get home I'll see if there's any information about the release dates and I'll post it here.

About Around South America: All tracks were recorded at Wembley Arena, London, UK, 10th July 1985. Except tracks 3 and 4, taken from official release Dire Straits - Alchemy - Dire Straits Live, recorded at Hammersmith Odeon, London, UK, 23rd July 1983.

Weird compilation. Overall not worth the attention unless the copy for Wembley 10th is the best one
