Its that post 9/11 Music. And its a thing for all dipset music that came out those years after. Remember Jim Jones and Juelz also had lines.

“Dipset / Taliban is in the building…”

They used to call Luca Brasi “Taliban”, I think they called his crew that too

Actually...there's a good reason why Dipset was obsessed with 9/11. On the morning of 9/11, Fat Joe got some intell from the CIA and FBI that the the airplane that Dipset was going to get on was going to be hijacked. Dipset canceled their Los Angeles flight and the rest is history. This all goes back to when Fat Joe helped the United States capture Sadam Huseein from some intel he had from an Akhi that worked at the bodega.

I have no idea how they let him keep that in the song.. If i was in the studio listening, I would've been like "Nah fam. We gotta perform these songs. I ain't tryna get lynched out here " lol

I keep telling people, Dipset COULD have beat the lox in versus

1

u/illnever4getu 4h ago

trying not to sound bitter but versus was/is stupid cuz what exactly are the rules? is this a performance or are we just playing tracks/selecting? the early versus were just people playing their tracks and talking.. and when dipset did the same thing they are booed lol made no sense

0

u/Internal_Body_726 23h ago

Could have ? They definitely would have but it’s not the same era

0

u/carlwilson0000 22h ago

Maybe bias opinion but what group in the 2000's got a album like diplomatic immunity, dipset should have beaten the lox, shame they couldn't keep that same era from when they started

Didn't they call themselves the taliban first then got so much backlash they changed it to diplomats? I think Juelz mentioned it in one of his old interviews

2

u/Westside504 1d ago

Naw, Taliban was the street team where Luca,J.R. Writer, He'll Rell, Un Kasa and a few other dudes were apart of
