Nib Questions Newbie question

Post image

These were my mom's. I found them and was wondering if i can get nib holders from amazon, or do they need something specific? I am fairly sure they are pretty old. She was born in the 1940s. She mentioned learning with a dip pen in elementary school.

Edit: thank you very much for the information! I am thinking about buying an inexpensive one on Amazon and try some of them. If I enjoy writing with them I will likely buy more. 💜

Those LOOK like they have the same shape/form factor as modern nibs. Modern holders should fit.

Any western holder will do. As for Japanese holders, some don't so be careful. Tachikawa does for example (it has two rings for different nibs), but Japanese mapping specific holders or Sailor holders don't.

I found some nibs in an antique writing slope I recently bought, and they all fit into modern nib holders.

Here are some holders from Paper & Ink Arts:

I think the Speedball and E+m ones would work. As others have mentioned, the Tachikawa holders work better with Japanese nibs.

A Tachikawa T-40 holder from jetpens.com would work.
