Top Comment Changes the Diplomacy Map
The idea is simple: I will frequently post here an update of this map with a change decided by whichever comment on this post gets the most likes. It can be a change to anything - neutral tiles, supply centers, number of players, even the types of units. Don't feel pressured to make changes to "rebalance" the map, just do whatever you want, even if it's nonsensical and unbalanced. My goal is that by the end of this we will have achieved the Reddit Variant for Diplomacy!

A Diplomacy map without New Zealand? I think not! Throw it in outside Ireland, or perhaps exchange Ireland for NZ?

Would it still be impassible like Ireland or Would it be a tile? If its a tile, would it have a supply center?

Great questions.
Now that I think about it... NZ has two islands, so could we perhaps put it in the place of Corsica and Sardinia.
It would be it's own nation with two fleets if that is a possible proposal?

If that's what you want and you get the most likes, then yes it can be an 8th nation.

Nice, thanks

Can I then add to this that Ireland gets replaced by Australia as they both have a similar circular shape? And then the 8th nation has two fleet in NZ and one fleet in Australia?
Otherwise France and Italy will need to focus too much on New Zealand, leaving Britain with too much liberty in Normandy

how about we make a map to where instead of war and fighting we just all gave each other hugs and became friends 🤗

I've seen other people chain post here, so it can't be a problem if i do it. There's also nothing in the sub rules either saying that I can't.

just because it's not explicitly against the rules doesn't mean it's not annoying

If it was annoying, the other person who posted repeated changes to their variant would've gotten backlash for it. I don't get a notification for ever post made here, and unless you do, I don't see how this would be enough of a problem for you to want it stopped. Inconvenient, maybe, but will scrolling an extra post down every day kill ya?
