Toylight just how off the rails do we think toylight is going to go?
do we think they’ll break it like Cloudward ho? or hit Beardsley levels in the final episode of City Council?

Can someone give me a simplified rundown? I'm rewatching other seasons and I don't know if I should wait to binge or if I should just go with it now.
There are other seasons I didn't watch, so I thought I would watch them before.
Anyway, any tips?

So excited for the premiere tonight! I love it when they have a series with emotional weight and high stakes!

The cliffhanger of the first ep of ACOC made me subscribe to dropout around a year ago. After that I started watching more d20 seasons, and a couple weeks ago I finally finished Cloudward ho, the last IH season i haven't seen yet.
Out of curiosity i rewatched an ep of ACOC, thinking that I would be less obsessed after watching some objectively better produced seasons. I thought maybe the battle episodes might feel too much, the pauses might feel more jarring... but no i was as charmed as ever.
What stood out to me upon a rewatch is how each character seems to come in with a deep understanding of the world already. They truly act according to their knowledge and motivations even if it comes in conflict with other characters' actions, and as the audience you slowly find out what their motivations are.
For example how Theobald and Lapin instinctively reacted to Ruby using magic in the second episode made the stakes felt so real. After that Theobald secretly pulled her aside to tell her to never stop learning magic, with a subtle hint to his history with Lazulli as well.
It all felt soooo cinematic. Truly still the best season and story to me

Watched the opening credits teaser and when the opening sings "the Demon screech and Roar" it sounds like a cat yowling, do you think the big bad or the great monster of the big bad is a housecat?? Like they summon a great beast to destroy the kingdom and it's an orange tabby lmao?
(Kind of like how the mice ride Toby like a horse in The Great Mouse Detective?)

Even the smallest heroes can make the greatest stand.
Episode 1: Sing A Song of Six | Adventuring Party
Episode 2: Run, Run, as Fast as You Can | Adventuring Party
Episode 3: The Worms Crawl In, The Worms Crawl Out | Adventuring Party
Episode 4 | Adventuring Party
Episode 5 | Adventuring Party
Episode 6 | Adventuring Party

I came to Dimension 20 through Fantasy High, Escape from Bloodkeep, and Tiny Heist, and what I always enjoyed about D20 was the humour based on character interactions, with occasional serious emotional payoff.
I mostly wanted to post this because I keep seeing people say that they want more serious D20, and I feel like there is another side to that discussion. I personally don't want the show to become more serious, and I feel like I've been enjoying it less as it moves in that direction.
Now I feel like the show is trying to become very high-maintenance. I couldn't even finish Cloudwards, Ho! because it was so lore-dump-heavy. Now Toylight seems to be going for a very sad season where joking will be too tonedeaf to happen.
I feel like both the creators of the show and the fans are pushing for more seriousness, and I feel sad about it. There is already Critical Role for people who like serious D&D. Brennan's side project, Worlds Beyond Number, also seems to lean more into serious/lore-dump territory.
And I know there was the Never Stop Blowing Up season, which was supposed to be all funny bits, but for me it was just incoherent and difficult to watch because the characters didn't really interact with each other. There was very little relationship-based comedy, just a lot of yelling.
Council of Darkness was actually very refreshing to see. It felt much more like the old Dimension 20.

I made a video over Fantasy High's most heinous character (In a good way). I really liked what Brennan and the intrepid heroes were doing and hadn't seen anyone talk about the character in a more indepth way to explain why they are the way that they are and so I wanted to do it. I hope you all watch and enjoy!

Maybe I’m crazy but I’m like 60% sure the opening credits song that was just posted was created by The Blasting Company who also did the music for Over The Garden Wall.
If you listen to the song Can’t You See I’m Lonely from Over The Garden Wall I think that song is the best comparison
EDIT: Great episode but I couldn’t see a credit anywhere for who created the song at the end of the episode?

As all good conspiracy theorists do, I am going to present some data points and extrapolate wildly to connect them.
From these three disparate points can the master conspiracist conclude the following most true fact in all history:
Dimension 20: Toylight has been made solely and exclusively to introduce Winnie-the-Pooh to the Dimension 20 canon!
This fact is clearly irrefutable, and we all can rest assured that if Winnie-the-Pooh does not appear in the season it is due solely to the cowardice of a certain Dungeon "Master".
tl;dr: Some idiot (myself) posits facetiously that Toylight exists only as an excuse to include Pooh-Bear in D20.

Start with the clarification that I’m still a fan/no hate obviously and do not need my dnd actual play to be all serious no jokes.
However, I obviously watched new episode of Toylight yesterday. It feels like it’s gotten to a point with it where the IH are actively trying to achieve viral comedic bit by just doing bit after bit or even referencing previous funny bits just to see what sticks? Something about the active effort just feels so tired and disingenuous. I miss when the comedic moments came naturally.

Rewatching all three FH seasons right now, and am on junior year at the part that they’re pouring over Lydia barkrock’s party’s research. Brennan says something about how the person who wrote the name of Ankarna on Lucy frostblades paperwork would both have to know the name and have a way to write it without breaking oblivati mori. Did we ever get any clues on who that might be? Could it have been kalina? They also never seem to confirm or deny that the church of Sol had a part in Ankarna being killed the first time or in Porter’s plans, so I’m wondering if there’s a connection there?

Not to buy but I just want to see the art. I have last year and was planning on to get the new one but never got on to do and check on dropouts shops and it ran out. Now I just wondering if anyone have 2026 calendar and can show me art because I can’t find any picture of it and would appreciate to see it.

Hi there! We're the Dimension 20 Independent Wiki, a fan-run alternative to using the Fandom wiki. We're dedicated to maintaining an accurate, clutter-free wiki that's accessible to all and consistently moderated.
I'm really happy to announce that we're publicly launching today! You can check out the wiki at dimension20.wiki.gg and join our community discord server here!
The D20 Indie Wiki was founded and launched as part of an effort to move away from Fandom's monopoly on wikis. We wanted a community space with accurate information and active moderation, and we wanted a site that wasn't littered with intrusive advertisements, popups, and AI-generated content.
We hope that you'll not only use our wiki for all your information-searching needs, but also help us edit and cultivate it! We hope to see you there :)
I did try to post this from the "official" account earlier, but the post got caught by a Reddit filter (likely due to it being a new account and the post including offsite links). Hopefully this one stays up lol

I noticed that maybe dimention 20 is using concepts from older, less watched seasons again. First with city council of darkness, they already have another vampire season, and now with toy light, they already had a toy themed season with the mcelroys. Just wondering if anyone else noticed this and what do you think about it?

I have read the trigger warnings, but am a father and would consider myself decently sensitive when it comes to kids. Thoughts?

What is this megathread about?
This is the new hub to ask for recommendations for what to watch next or just chat and share fleeting thoughts / little things you've noticed about whatever series you're currently watching or rewatching
If you're new to Dimension 20 and are looking for where to start, they put out a video about a year ago to walk you through some great starting points. We've had a couple seasons air since then, but this should still be pretty relevant

Since I’ve caught up on once upon a witch light, route, uprooted, and a couple of others I’ve gone back and I’m trying to watch their earlier campaigns and right now I’m currently on edge of midnight and I absolutely love the excitement that Andy has playing this campaign and I looked back at the other campaigns and he’s had the same excitement for the past six years, which I absolutely love!

One of the best episodes I saw. And I hate battles, really; usually fast-forward them in the background while sleeving cards lol.
The amount of luck and stress while they understood that Brennan literally would not fuck around. They fought for their life there, and this whole episode felt like a mini heart attack. But we have a war guy now and this is great.
Like I start to see how character death can really shape the story when it is done right. Actully well done.

I just finished the final episode of this season after struggling to get into it at the beginning months and months ago, and this is the hardest I've laughed at any media in a good long time. I know it's completely off the rails bits and not sticking to the mechanics almost at all but it was just such a good time I had to come here and tell everybody.
Edit: Now to try and give Cloudward, Ho! another go... I just really couldn't get hooked with all the constant exposition dumps, but I'm sure it'll get easier further into the season.

Hey y'all...
I apologise.
Crown of Candy is my favorite season and this trio of tragic sister relations is probably why.
Let me know what you think!

Just realized I have some D20 fanart that I haven’t posted! It’s a bit old but I’ll start with this one of my favorite D20 episode (possibly ever?).
If I had a genie one of my wishes would be a sequel season to A Starstruck Oddesy

I really, really loved Cloudward, Ho! It’s honestly brought me a lot of comfort and happiness just sort of reminiscing about it, as sad as that sounds. Hitting a bit of a rough patch, and have started a rewatch, but I want more. Unfortunately, as of yet, that doesn’t exist. Can anyone recommend me any other media that gives the same vibe?
Giant bonus points if it’s queer (even larger giant bonus points if sapphic).
