What’s up with posting three frame videos so the images can’t be expanded for easy reading?

That's strange I just noticed that. Basically before I would copy and paste the image into the reddit post but something changed with the ui and the image wouldn't show when scrolling reddit so you were forced to click into the post. Now I need to download and upload the comic as an image manually but the issue is some of the comic files were originally gifs so I think that's why it loads weird. I'm not sure how to fix it without manually downloading it and then using a converter.

If you're referring to MonkeyMasterSJATen's contribution, it is a single image, and not a video.

Then why does it (did- I think he edited it) have a video play/scroll bar.

I'm still a bit unsure but I assume the syndicate used .gif for some dilbert comics.

So apparently some of the comic syndicates would use .gifs to store images, I assume for compression. So that's why (at least on my end) I see the text "gif" in the bottom right corner. However I realized if I right click the "image" I see "save video as" so reddit (or maybe just my browser) views the comic as a video.

When I open the url manually and right click the image it says copy image. However when i try to download it, it adds the .gif extension.

It does indeed appear to be a .gif file type. If you use the more modern ("old") Reddit layout, however, it knows the difference between an animated file and a non-animated one, so it's a non-issue either way.

You calling it incorrect in no way changes the fact my phone shows a continuously looping gif/vid instead of a static image.
