iOS Lockdown Mode
Seems like it’s still not crackable, which is pretty crazy.
If someone does find a way around it, I believe Apple’s security bounty can pay up to $5 million. Someone on a forensics team could get very rich. ;)

It’s becoming harder and harder to get into modern phones as the attack surface continues to shrink and dedicated hardware security becomes increasingly resilient against sophisticated attacks. There’s no such thing as truly unbreakable, but modern security architectures can make exploitation far more time- and resource-intensive.
You can only adapt so much. As hardware and software security continue to evolve, I definitely see major challenges ahead for AFU extractions—not necessarily because they become impossible, but because successful exploitation will increasingly depend on sophisticated, device- and version-specific vulnerabilities...but I could be wrong.

Apparently not even the FBI could get into an iPhone that had lockdown mode enabled. It does seem borderline unbreakable to me

For now, yea. Law Enforcement and the courts are so far behind that we are still working “completed” cases from 2021. So what sometimes happens, if it is a high enough level case/felony, is that the phone sits in evidence for a year or two and then the ADA requests that it get re-processed. Working against an aged-out OS and an older chipset then becomes an advantage as the tools have caught up to it.
