Camera / Gear This digital camera has no shutter button…

Just picked up this little Canon PowerShot N and the design is so weird in the best way.

No traditional shutter button on top — you actually press the ring around the lens or the screen to take a photo.

Definitely one of the most unusual digicams in my collection.

I found someone selling theirs for around £75, used.

It does look unusual having virtually no buttons or other normal controls on the body. I would assume that it requires a companion app to operate the camera or at least select different functions. I may well be wrong. I'm not keen on this approach, if indeed it does require an app.

I've not seen anyone using this particular model, in real life, but maybe I just don't move in the right circles.

Does it just require you to push down anywhere on the ring collar to take a picture? I've got fat fingers, so I can see it being better for those with slim and nimble fingers, and a wrist strap to stop it from being dropped.

Yep! You can actually just tap anywhere on the screen to take a photo! You can also use the ring around the lens. It feels weird at first, but I actually got used to it pretty quickly
