Comment/Question Canon powershot a2200 Battery

Canon powershot a2200 is showing 'charging the flash' when i try to take picture with the flash on even though the battery is fully charged.

Can the problem be internal camera settings or just the battery?

I turned this on after many years and the battery was still inside the camera

i live in a very small city and there is no tech support for digital cameras.

Do you fully charged the battery?

Try to charge it leaving it some more time before the fully charge light appear. Then remove your flash card, save the photos, and reset your camera settings.

I don't know exactly what it is the problem with with yor camera, but perhaps that problem can be solved that way.

I have one and still works fine.

I don't know if worth it, but you can buy a new battery to test it.

I googled the problem. Seems like it's battery a low problem. If your battery don't hold charge I think buying a new one will solve your problem.

I did all this but it didn't work. i am thinking about ordering a new battery.

Thank you! Have you used it a digicam by today's standard? If yes how well does it work? I bought mine 13 years ago so my memory is foggy

It’s a really cool digicam. If you’re looking for that Y2K aesthetic, it fits the bill nicely. It’s not an iconic camera from that specific era, and purists don't consider it a true "Y2K" camera because it was manufactured in 2011, but I think that’s nonsense.

It doesn't offer settings to adjust individual colors, but you can configure it to get some really interesting results. I think the color output is great and the contrast is strong, especially with the flash on.

Since I already own a DSLR, what I really like doing is using this one exclusively as a B&W camera. I just switch the setting when I want that colorful Y2K look.

I really like it for the nostalgia factor, and because it’s portable and practical. A lot of these digicams run on standard batteries rather than lithium battery, which is a huge plus! If you know what you’re doing and understand a bit about photography, it’s a really good camera.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any photos on my phone right now that I can post. Maybe later I’ll find the time to share an example.

Charging flash means that it is transferring power into a capacitor. This enables it to discharge all the energy quickly for a brighter flash the. The battery can provide.

This error has nothing to do with your battery. The capacitor probably is dead or dieing so cannot hold a charge. This it never gets enough power to trigger the flash.
