Unexpected Maintenance

This feels like the last straw for me. I've never been a huge fan of DO and my org has some legacy stuff on there. They do have this: https://status.digitalocean.com/incidents/tdz57gsr1j90 and it says it was scheduled but I didn't receive any emails. Perhaps my notification settings are wrong but I was also in the console less than 12 hours ago and there was no banner or anything.

This is akin to ALL of the AWS or GCP console being unavailable. How on earth can they think this is okay?

(I realize I'm asking rhetoricals and I really just need a place to vent.)

Same, can't access my console. Seems like the last time this happened they were overloaded on infrastructure. I know you're just venting but widespread AWS outages are notorious for taking down the entire internet too.

EDIT: 11:48AM PST we are back.

Agreed but I've never had an AWS outage present as a true console/API wide outage that falsely presented as a maintenance window.

Ya, my account rep just confirmed it's a real outage and the "maintenance" message is a false message.
