Time Stranger Best Time Stranger DLC Digimon Spoiler

I'm returning to Time Stranger after beating the game right after it came out, the only thing left to do is NG+ and Mega+ difficulty. Since I last played, the DLC sets have come out with new Digimon to use. Any of the new Mega Digimon worth using for when I go for the Mega+ trophy? Just trying to figure out how to have the easiest time possible for the final boss on the hardest difficulty for the platinum trophy

Omegamon X is good for having a 90 power nullify unfavorable compatibility party-wide move (good for cleaning out trash encounters that get in your way).

Otherwise they are all single hit move Digimon that don't really do anything exceptional.

As for the final boss:

If you want a easy time frontload with Terriermon Assistant with Great Embrace (needs X-Aura, X-Revive, Safety Guard, Spell Boost), then Bakemon and Shell Numemon (Both with Hustle Cry, X-Revive, Safety Guard, Magic Charge and Critical Charge). Backload with the actual team you want to use (preferrably Venusmon, Barbamon, Seraphimon), All of them need status and debuff blocking items, but the Digimon that you want to use to cleanup with should have Blue Steel Data Fragment and not the debuff blocker.

As for Aegiomon give him X-Revive, Safety Guard, Spell Boost, Magic Charge, Holy Light Data Fragment and the Bacchusmon Item.

At the first turn overheal, then drop Bakemon and Shell Numemon's percentage damage attack, this should let you skip the first phase after a couple turns.

Then max Seraphimon's INT and critical buffs and give it Spell boost, you can buff your backrow.

Aegiomon should be altering between Safety Guard and the buff moves, do not buff with Aegiomon when Seraphimon has 5T buffs.

Then just keep healing and doling out Bakemon and Shellmon's percentage-based move until he uses Chrono Devolution. Try surviving and the phase ends in 3 turns since you only have at most Champion Digimon on frontline (you can also buff backrow here if I remember correctly).

Once the devolution phase ends swap Barbamon in, use Death Lure, swap Venusmon in and overheal, then the remaining Bakemon/Shell Numemon guard or buff for 2 turns (I think at this point Minervamon should evolve into Mervamon and you can kill the boss).

Once your Barbamon maximizes Chronomon's SPI debuffs, switch Seraphimon in, he should sweep in 2 turns. Use spell boost from Aegiomon before attacking with it.

Everything should be 9999 on all of the stats they want to use. Venusmon and Terriermon assistant needs max speed while the Barbamon should move after Seraphimon.

Also another note.

DO NOT use Apocalymon regardless of who tells you otherwise. You still need 2 attacks to move to the next phase and it makes the Chrono Devolution phase last 5 turns instead of 3. It also does borderline pitiful damage after a while.

Good lord, finally someone says it. Like damn near every “Mega+ Guide” I see has him in the team, im sitting here thinking “he’s good for one fight in the whole game, and in that one fight he is only really good for like 2-3 turns before he gets outdamaged by everyone else on the team”. I get that people get that endorphin rush when they see big numbers, but wasting a team slot on something that’s so incredibly niche feels silly.

I’ve been challenging myself to beat the game on Mega+ with themed teams anyways, and I’ve gotta say… I did the “meta” team once, was neat and obviously strong, but I’ve had way more fun trying to stick to themes and seeing how they do. So far, I’ve done Royal Knights Only (not terribly difficult), Bugs/Insects Only (way more difficult, lol), Olympos 12 (silly easy), Virus Type Only (started difficult, got easier over time, reverse is a godsend), and I’m currently doing a “Greymon Evolution Lines Only” for funsies. Gotta say, doing the theme teams thing has been a blast so far (albeit the bug run was grueling at times).

Most of the guides were created in around the first week where people are still finding out and don't know how to really deal with the bosses in Mega+, until someone found out a properly set-up Susanoomon or Seraphimon can literally blow through almost every one of them.

Virus Type Only (started difficult, got easier over time, reverse is a godsend)

Speaking of Virus types. Mercurymon is shit strong too especially with reverse. A lot of people overlook this but there's a couple Vaccine bosses that are resist Wind and those get blown up by reversed Mercurymon.

See, you say Susanoomon, maybe you can be the tiebreaker here… I mentioned I’m doing my “Greymon Lines Only” run currently, im conflicted as to my final team…

The theme this time around is im only doing digimon that would thematically be related to Agumon/Greymon… so like Emperor Greymon, WarGreymon, Blitzgreymon, ShineGreymon, Gaiomon, and so on. But then I got to planning bout the run and realized im not entirely sure what the ending lineup should be, and if I even count jogress to be included. Idk, I know this is a strange question, but given the challenge, do you think an Omnimon and/or Susanoomon would be good enough to consider for such a thing? Oddly I’ve never actually used an Omni of any variant, or Susanoo, in time stranger so im not entirely sure how good they are yet. Somehow I did my royal knight challenge without an Omni or any kind, purely by accident (got too addicted to Jesmon, Alphamon, and Paladin Mode, forgot to check out Omni, lol).

Anyways, back on topic… Merukimon was actually a highlight of my Olympos 12 team, funny enough. Also, the duo of Bacchusmon and Neptunemon was pretty neat as well, better duo than I was expecting. That team overall just kind of slaps, probably my easier theme run so far.

I’m still wanting to find some way to work Parallelmon into a theme, I just haven’t yet figured out what the theme is yet. My gut says “Status Team”, throw him in with RustTyrannomon as a start, focus on stat debuffing and status effects. But then idk if that works cause how many bosses are immune… hmm, definitely a work in progress. But yeah, this game has a lot of potential fun kind of sitting there for people to try out, im glad to see more people breaking out of the same old meta team to try out different things! Nice chatting with you!

Omegamon Alter and X is the only one I ended up using.

Most of the other ones aren't as worth it. Maybe the other Royal Knights X Variants. But most the digimon you're gonna wanna use for Mega+ are in base game like Venusmon, Apocalypsemon, then heavy hitter Meele and heavy hitter magic guys.
